Anybody know what Jay Z's opinion is of having his name mentioned in teen superstar Miley Cyrus's song "Party in the USA"? I'm just curious what he would think of being this mainstream. Seems like he would lose some street cred! On the other hand he's getting his name out there to millions of teeny boppers and probably helping his own record sales. I did a google search and couldn't find any Jay Z quotes on the topic. If anyone has heard any interviews I'd be interested to hear his opinion. Thanks in an advance. Here is the lyrics from part of her song:

    "Party in the USA"

I hopped on the plane at LAX
With a dream of my cargidan
Welcome to the land of fame access
    Am I gonna fit in?
Jumped in the cab here I am for the first time
    Look to my right
And I see the Hollywood sign
    This is all so crazy
    Everybody seems so famous!

    My tummy's turnin'
    And I'm feeling kinda homesick
    Too much pressure
    And I'm nervous
'Cause when the taximan turned on the radio

And a Jay Z song was on
And a Jay Z song was on
And a Jay Z song was on

    (Chorus)
So I put my hands up
    They're playin' my song
    The butterflies fly away
    Noddin' my head like 'Yeah'
    Movin' my hips like 'Yeah'
    I got my hands up
    They're playing my song
I know I'm gonna be okay
    Yeah
It's a Party in the USA
    Yeah
It's a Party in the USA

You don't think Jay Z is already mainstream?

I did hear his comments recently about Indie Rock, he's a really big fan.

Me too. At the same time I'm waiting to see what LAX transportation officials think. Oh the suspense!

Jay Z is mainstream. If your music is used for a commercial and you are actually in the commercial, that's mainstream.

Beyonce, her sister, and Jay Z watching Grizzly Bear in NYC.

Jay-Z could give two ****s about little Miley's crappy music... he got the Blueprint III... which is on a record right now in sales.... owning everything. I don't think he would care about Miley...

    Zactly.

BP3 is an awesome album however call me crazy but I think KuDi's album was better.... CuDi's album has been my favorite album since Nas "Hip is Dead".

Btw Raekwon's album is almost in stores!! :)

But, I heard he's nearing the Beatles or something in some record of sales for all-time album totals.

How could Hip Hop is Dead be a favorite Nas album when Illmatic is a Nas album?

LOL. Jay-Z can't even see the Beatles at this point. That's not a knock on his greatness, but Jay is literally about 950,000,000 behind the Beatles in total album sales.
