Pavement! Just got my two tickets to there reunion show in NYC, which is approximately one year from now. Yes, they are my favorite band of all time.
Too much music to list in the last week but I will list these: "They Were Wrong, So We Drowned" - Liars "Absolution" - Muse "Stories of the City, Stories of the Sea" - PJ Harvey "Killing Joke (first album)" - Killing Joke "The Dark Side of the Spoon" - Ministry "Let Love In" - Nick Cave "Space Is the Place" - Sun Ra "It's My Life" - Talk Talk "Gentlemen Take Polaroids" - Japan "Vienna" - Ultravox (probably one of my 5 favorite albums ever) "The Queen Is Dead" - The Smiths "The Low End Theory" - A Tribe Called Quest "Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me" - The Cure "Second Edition" - Public Image Limited "Hyaena" - Siouxsie and the Banshees
I saw Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks last night here in Auckland. Great show! Janet Weiss, once of Sleater-Kinney, is their drummer and she rocked, in particular. I would be very pleased to see Pavement again. They were one of my favorites from the era*. *Although, I saw Pavement in Houston the same night that Stockton eliminated the Rockets, so there is a bad association with them. NL- The Smiths- There is a Light That Never Goes Out
