Great! But you have to get "Country Life" which, IMO, is their best album although the ones you've listed are pretty damn good. About the only studio album of theirs I don't care much for is "Manifesto" but it does have the absolutely brilliant single, "Dance Away" - unfortunately that is about it for that album. On "Country Life" they had Eddie Jobson playing keyboards and electric violin along with Phil Manzanera on guitar, guest John Gustafson on bass, the great Paul Thompson on drums, Andy Mackay on sax and oboe, and Bryan Ferry on vocals and occasionally on the piano. I don't know many rock bands that had an electric violin player AND sax player! EDIT - Forgot to add, that "Roxy Music" and "For Your Pleasure" were the only 2 albums to have the legendary Brian Eno in the band. So those albums are sorta out there and experimental; however, FYP is my 2nd favorite Roxy Music album after Country Life. That Waits album is the next one that I want to get by him. Is it similar to "Bone Machine" or similar to something else that he has done?

I got "Country Life" but I have been working in the lab these last few days so have not gotten to sit around the office and give it a good listening to. Tom Waits, Mule Variations is similar to Bone Machine. I originally purchased the album for a particular song, "What’s he building in There?" which is about a crazy neighbor who is building something in his garage, but the album has many great songs, Big in Japan, Get Behind the Mule, Black Market Baby, Chocolate Jesus, and Come up on to the House. I have a couple compilation albums of his, they are both very good Beautiful Maladies: The Island Years Used Songs: 1973-1980 And I have, Live at Ebbets Field which is also a great album.

Been listening to Muse's latest... The Resistance I like it. Its not mind-blowing but its solid throughout. Nice to see them mix it up a bit.

I'm a big fan of the first two tracks and the Exogenesis Symphony trio at the end, the rest was good but again, nothing spectacular. Absolution would still be my favorite of their albums.
Absolution has always been my favorite. Thoughts of a Dying Atheist. Stockholm Sydrome, Hysteria, Time is Running Out, Sing for Absolution, the whole album is amazing. I do really like tracks 6 on the new album though, as well as the first 2 radio-friendlies. United States of Eurasia is trippy, sounds like Queen mixed with Green Day or something.
Currently listening to two colleagues in the cube next to me drone on and on about the ongoing struggle to merge cutting edge business information technologies with the antiquated and under-budgeted infrastructures of state agencies. Riveting.
It's all about Dynamic range. They didn't compress the tracks at all in these recordings. To me the transfer to digital has go and bad aspects. The reason I wanted the Mono remasters are because that's how they were recorded in the first place. The way they were in LP's. To me the stereo remasters sound TOO loud. As an Audio Engineer I'm just super curious in the way it was recorded 40 years ago.
