    I'm working on mine right now. I plan on concealing it by using a couple of olives as a sheath.

    That's sad.

    On the lunging, if the 4 stood between the burglar and the exit, I can see him hoping they wouldn't have the courage to fight back and he'd be able to bull his way through and escape.

    Saw this on the local news last night. I think the dude had like 23 previous arrests. I'd personally still protect my home with a shotgun if necessary. It should be noted that the area around JHU is freakin ghetto.

    I don't know.. If he was clearly unarmed and was just standing there with a TV in his hands and not looking very threatening, I'd probably beat the crap out of him with my friends and call the police.

    Slicing a guys hand off sounds really gruesome. I don't think I could do it.

    That's not your biggest problem - according to what some ninja geek wrote on another forum one time, most of the decorative swords are spot welded to the handle, and you could seriously injure yourself just swinging one around. You need one where the tang goes down into the handle - much like a quality knife.
