Knicks sign Sun Yue to partly guaranteed contract. Didn't think any team would pick him up but NY is the ideal place for him. http://www.nytimes.com/2009/09/13/s...tsbriefs-knicks.html?_r=3&partner=rss&emc=rss
Did you watch the Olympics in China? Yi was damn near non existent in the tourney. Sun Yue stepped up and became China's 2nd best player in those games. How do you not bring your A Game for your country's biggest games? He's a NBA lottery pick, playing against lesser competition and got out performed by a 2nd round, over sized PG? Outside of Yao and maybe Sun, China has nobody else. Yi mine as well stayed home. The sorriness of Yi. Dude has all the right tools and if he had work ethic like Yao, he'd actually be a decent player right now.
Didn't the communist regime of china only agree to send Yi to the NBA if the Bucks gave starting minutes?
Tskitishvili Rule: if Mike D'Antoni doesn't have a use for you or can't mask your flaws in his run-and-gun system, then you KNOW you have no future in this league.
considering that the knicks regularly sell out the worst product in the league, night after night, I doubt it was a marketing ploy...not a whole lot of people coming in from Flushing to see Sun ride the bench on the off chance he makes the team. See the words "partly guaranteed" (if it's even true) Guess how big of a part....
considering that Sun (at the NBA level) can't shoot, has had more TOs than assist, gambles a lot on defense (leaving his man alone), has no insider, nor mid-range, nor outside game what would be the reason (basketball wise) for signing him. ?
