    Santong Snacks is the bomb!

But yeah, the dumplings with "broth" in them are soup dumplings a.k.a Little Dragon Dumplings.

I've been to Sandong? twice, I don't really understand why it's great. All I know is they are very busy....so the general asian population loves their food. I'll probably go again next week and give them a try again, what do you guys recommend?

    I approved this message.

Been there many times and I just had lunch at Dumpling King in Westheimer, it sucked. Nothing beats Doozo's.

They're dumpling is soooo good that even the owners who work there too are sooo annoying and a bit rude, you'll still come back.

They remind of soup nazi. Absolutely no sense of customer service, but whatever. They don't even look at you when you hand them a credit card or cash. About two weeks ago I asked the old dude at the register "do you know how to smile?" He just looked at me with a blank stare. lol.

another vote for sandong. they have 2 types of dumplings (different veggie inside), my dad likes one better than the other, and i like the other much better than the other - so they taste differently.

ive also seen "george ming" picking up a takeout order from there.

I'll have to try Doozo's - I loves me some good dumplings.

Dumpling King is definitely good. For those that don't know, it's on Westheimer just east of Hillcroft/Voss (on the inbound side). It's a little hole in the wall joint, easy to miss.

    talking about..

    small servings..
    pricey,
and less meat in the dumpling,
    above all, tasteless.

the only thing that's good is the that ginger sauce.

How is $5 for 10 dumplings pricey or a small serving?

small servings? it's the standard 6 and 10 piece orders like you'd get at 99% of the other places you'd get dumplings. also, you can dine like a king there for 10 bucks. and if you are saying tasteless, you must have ordered the chicken dumplings, which is a rookie move.

honestly, it sounds like you didn't even go there.

Kroger on West Gray (the one that serves River Oaks) - they have three Asian ladies who make fresh dumplings, sushi, and spring rolls on the weekends.

They serve their dumplings sauteed - in store - they are OUTSTANDING !!

Doozo's also comes in orders of 10. I would agree that Doozo's are bigger but a lot of that is the dough - as I already said, I think they are too thick and chewy. Also, DK has about 15 different kinds of dumplings and not all are the same size...so who knows. Even if Doozo's are slightly bigger, I still found it odd to say DK was overpriced when they are $5 for 10.

Dumpling King by Bedrock City Comics? Man, if my memory is correct, those dumplings were very disappointing.

I was there last Friday. We ordered 4 different kinds of dumplings, 2 steamed and 2 fried. The sizes are not as big as those at Doozo's. Doozo only give 5 but still they're filling cuz they're bigger.
