On New Yorkers' boos: New Yorkers booed me because they can't get me but I am going to a team which defeated them in 1994 (Rockets vs. Knicks). Scott Layden (Knicks GM) asked me once "do you know why any GM would choose you?" I answered that "because if they do not choose me, I will be their biggest headaches" (The best way to defeat your enemy is to reruite him on your side; thinking abou this guy's intelligence") On Barkley: He did not bring a ring for Rockets. He did not get a rookie like me to carry bags for him. If I get the champ trophy one day, I will remember to send him a copy as a gift and then pad on his big belly, " Come on, take it easy. You are not even worthy Fan Bin (the point guard of the Chinese NT, Yao's good friend). I carried bags for him. Charles, don't be a sour grape." http://sports.sohu.com/30/78sports_news164537830.shtml
Thanks, NY! Don't have to worry about Ming bolting for the Big Apple in a few years, I think ya'll may have pissed him off! Outstanding work!
I think the booing he received, as well as the comments Barkley made, just motivated him to work 10 times harder to prove them all wrong. New York just woke up a sleeping giant.
fwang: I posted that in Ming's trash talk. Appearantly you did a more patient job translating about NY's boo. But how can you miss the line about Steve Francis, that's hilarious and shows the guy it really intelligent, which is the biggest upside for his potential. michecon
Seems like Yao has a quick wit and isn't afraid to speak his mind...i just hope he's able to back it all up.
Great stuff. Man this Yao is a trash talker! Hopefully he will have the game to back it up. I think Shaq will remember some of his comments and introduce him to the bows his first run through the league. Hopefully he won't cave his chest in.
This is very good news for Ming fans if his statements are accurately quoted. Imagine Bradley saying anything like that. What I mean is Ming has BALLS and that's half the battle on the court.
Haha, Yao so funny... What did he say about Steve? I remember something about learning the words he said in a commercial... Barkley didn't diss him but hoped the best, but it's still funny
