I couldn't watch the game. The way you guys are talking, sounds like Pops has more potential than Ricky Rubio. ;)

It was a close game in the fourth but Spain pulled away down the stretch.

Nah, with a look back on 2008's draft, there weren't that many talents after Dorsey, and Rockets needed to refresh some talent on PF/C position that time. Really can't blame the scouting team.
But Taylor, on the other hand, I have a big question mark on him too. I feel some of the draft picks after him could be potentially turn out better than him. Like Blair, Sam Young, and Judie Meeks.

No offense, but the rockets passed on Mario Chalmers to select Joey Dorsey. Im still kind of scratching my head on that one. Whats the old saying, you pick based on talent and not need. I still hope that Dorsey can help the rockets, but Chalmers would have been a sweet pick up.

Yeah - but he might've been playing in Europe somewhere right now - so we wouldn't have known how sweet a pickup he would have been?

There's no doubt we have some talent playing overseas - whether or not that talent ever makes the roster is another question altogether.

Having said that, I think Dorsey has some 'talent' - he's a mobile big guy who has shot-blocking instincts and a voracious appetite for the rebound. We'll see him in action this season (only his second year) and be in a better position to lament the shortcomings of a second round draft pick!

Nice post. His second year, after 100% dominating on D in SL like he said he would...
