Fair enough just don't pretend like there isn't rationing already.

and she's right. she's not saying insurance officials don't already have some of those same powers. she's saying the government is a less efficient, more expensive way to address the problem.

and, i don't want the government having those powers.

Whether you want government or not having those powers unelected officials in the private sector already have that power. While the president might be shifting who has the power rationing is already occuring.

Sarah Palin's wording was either poor, limited, or deceptive to paint an impression in regard that only through the actions of the President that we would have rationing.

and the president's plan will make that power more expensive- Barak Obama's language has been either poor, (but un)limited, or deceptive to paint an impression in regard that only through the actions of the President that we could have a less expensive system.

When asked to comment on the Wall Street Journal article she wrote, Ms. Palin responded, "I wrote an article? When?"

can you or sarah provide real examples of how "that power" will become more expensive instead of just providing rhetoric that the government is inefficient.

No problem. Don't take advantage of a public option if it passes. Oh and make sure you decline Medicare coverage.

So, instead of government having those powers, you prefer they stay in private hands? This makes no sense. Government has some checks on it in the form of elections, media scrutiny, and citizen protests. Private rationing responds to none of those things unless they can possibly influence the only theoretical check on private rationing: the government.

Also, let me make three points...

    1. It's ridiculous that the Wall Street Journal is still allowing the death panel rhetoric to appear in their paper, but then again, it's now a Fox thing so I shouldn't be surprised.

    2. It's pathetic that Palin thinks she can write something on the day Obama addresses the nation and believe she can set up a Palin vs. Obama frame to the news. That Palin would try to make news today is both predictable and sad.

    3. This piece is further proof that a ghostwriter smart enough to capture the voice of Sarah Palin is not stupid enough to be a ghostwriter for Sarah Palin.
