I assume you purchased yours at the Willowbrook store? How did you/your sister provide proof that you/she is a college student? I am going to the Galleria store. Do I need to bring my receipt for payment for the first semester of grad school?
They can be thin no matter what method of manufacture. The fact it is CNC or whatever doesn't really matter, it is still aluminum which can easily dent as it is soft.
Beat the hell out of the plastic body, which either 1) cracks or 2) fades/gets discolored. I love the unibody. Great sturdy feel. Awesome heat dispersement. Easy to clean.
so are the macbook pros getting an update anytime soon? they had one in june right? what's all this rumors about the white macbook getting an update? and last question..what about the imacs? i need a desktop. dont really have any uses for a laptop.
I know this is bad form but I am going to re-post my earlier enrty, I realized that the promotion ends this Wednesday - A question for the Apple experts. Will apple being doing a similar promotion after this current free Ipod touch thing runs out? I ask because I know that new Ipod is coming out. If I am going to purchase a macbook pro anyways, should I wait for a new promotion, or should I go ahead and get a (soon to be) last gen Ipod and sell it? Thank you.
To lazy to quote, to answer some questions: In my experience, they only asked for a student ID to get the student discount. Actually, I did not have mine on me so they asked if I could login to my school email account in the store as another form of proof. Pretty easy. The only time Apple does a promotion like this is for the upcoming school year. They typically do this every year, from maybe May/June to September. So far the deal has always been the same (price discount + free iPod). So if you don't do it this weekend, you'll have to wait until next summer. It seems like they purposely schedule product updates right after the deal ends. I assume it's to sell out the old inventory.
I doubt many people are willing to pay for that. Aluminum unibody is pretty flawless so far for my purposes.
Most def. You're more than welcome to email me through the board; I'll answer pretty much any question you have. No, you only need to be willing to learn. A lot of people we have working at the Apple Store have never used a Mac. If you're good, you're good. I knew Macs pretty darn well for a pretty darn long time, but a lot of people didn't. And we all applied through jobs.apple.com, so that's pretty much standard.
I have the MacBook Pro, and the battery life is absolutely terrible. It lasts for about an hour to an hour and a half on average unplugged from the charger. The only negative that comes to mind. Anyone else have this problem?
Well... I'm not gonna say I'm an Apple fan... because I do have two Windows computers at home that I absolutely love... and I am going to be installing Windows 7 on my Mac as well as my PC's at home... You just have to respect the genuine sexiness of Apple... they out-do everyone in that dept... it's not really debatable, and then they make it even better my making them durable. That's probably due to the fact that you didn't take care of your MacBook very well. People complain about notebook batteries all the time... saying Dell's crappy battery or HP sucks... etc... It's not really that the manufacturer's battery sucks, it's that people can't take care of their laptops.. You don't charge your laptop everytime you want to.. You charge it after it dies.. even if it has low battery, until you get a message saying that it has low battery and needs to be charged, you don't charge it. Another thing that I find very common with people is people charging it half way, or sometimes just for like 30 minutes and taking it off... that messes up the battery. You just have to take care of your battery for it to last for years... especially these MacBook ones which are built-in.... they are supposed to last longer than portable batteries. This concept goes same with cellphone batteries. To answer your first question, I don't think they will at this time... surely not this year at least, since they did it June. There is a rumor though that the plastic MacBooks will be redone.. probably for next March's convention, I'm guessing. On your second question, I think they will also be re-doing the iMacs.. with adding new hardware such as Blu-Ray drives and stuff like that to them, so you could possibly see an update in March 2010 as well on one of those things. iMacs are pretty nice desktops. IMO, from the way they have done it in the past, No... they won't bring this back again... at least not until next summer comes along for a new school year. Yeah, those new iPods will be announced on September 9th... but there's no way to get them for free. Best option I give you though is to get a MacBook Pro with the older iPod touch... the free one or whichever one you want... and sell that one... and also file the rebate. Then, with that money that you sell it with, you can put it towards your purchase of the new iPod. That's just a suggestion from me, I sold mine when I bought my MacBook last month and just used the money on my expenses. Which location in San Antonio have you applied at? I'm just wondering, I might be applying to an Apple Store also pretty soon...
It's $229 off an iPod. So you could get the 8gb for just the sales tax after rebate or get the 16gb for $70 and sales tax after rebate.
Get the one you would like 8gb, 16gb or 32 gb, you will recieve $229 rebate regardless which one you choose. I chose the 16gb for $299 difference of $70 dollars for an additional 8gb of hd. I have not open it yet until I get some info on the new ipod. Thanks bobrek, I already transfer all my music and photos from my pc.
honestly im just going to sell whatever ipod I get so im trying to figure out which one will give me a better net profit (so that the overall cost of the laptop will be lower)
