Even if you follow this logic (which I think is seriously flawed because of the trash talking Blount did before the game), there is no way he "got what he had coming" I can see a fight resulting from it, but a sucker punch? There is a big difference.
Nice post, this pretty much sums up my feeling about this, however (I didn't watch the game) it sounds like Blount was running his mouth the entire game (and before too), so the temptation at the end of the game to remind him of the score and his performance was probably irresistible.
Not so sure about that. The hotheaded running backs (et al.) aren't showing good return on investment. Remember that dude Phillips out of Nebraska? The NFL is a pretty smart business.
This makes no sense. What he did wasn't "allowable, condonable, or justifiable" but he gave him what he deserved?
so, the guy "taps" him and looks away...yeah blount shouldn't have punched him, but the bsu player should've realized there may be a retaliation. a sucker punch is when you have absolutley no idea there's even a possibility for a punch. you don't talk taunt someone and "tap" them and not expect a response. at the very least, be a man and not turn away immediately after doing that.
yeah i watched the tape, but i'm not sure how it changes my point other than i apologize for questioning the manhood of someone who would kick my ass 18 ways til sunday.
yehah because everyone expects to get punched when there is trash talking in college football ... its not like that doesnt happen every play
i'd agree, but when you involve physically touching the person you're taunting, then you should be dumb not to expect some sort of retaliation.
ROFLMAO- I watched it over and over and over again. Don't talk **** and taunt others after the game and you won't get knocked out!
Doubtful. They let many guys that have done a thousand times worse into the league every year. You can be sure the commish will be watching him closely though.
weird, i saw an update on sportscenter, said oregons AD said no punishment. im trying to find a link too. maybe they broke that news to quickly, said it and just decided to act like they didnt say it. hmmm maybe they said the boise st dude wouldnt be punished, i read that somewhere. thinking thats prob it. just saw an article from todd mcshay on espn.com, said blount just became undraftable
