I remember him saying that. I was so excited to hear that from him at the time because Ariza was vital for the Lakers. I'm ecstatic that he's now on our team, and I hope White can get a big paycheck elsewhere
He was great in the garbage minutes that he played in the NBA. During the summer league he was recovering from an injury if memory serves correct. I am pretty sure that the coaches already had an idea of what he could do, so they were probably exploring the other guys abilities a bit more with the play calling. I still think he is an exciting player who had one bad summer league.
It's a shame that exciting does not necessarily equal good. same ol story....got skills, don't got the drive to use them productively...drop him and move on.
No Gerald Green got trade to the Rockets mid season and was waived before the playoffs if I remember his tenure. You might be thinking of Mike Harris, who was good but lost his spot to Von Wafer and the fact that we had Artest and Battier on the team at the small forward position.
