Poorly disguised Nash joins Beijing pick-up game By J.E. Skeets Mon Aug 31, 2009 1:50 pm EDT Suns guard Steve Nash(notes) showed up in disguise at a Beijing pick-up game over the weekend, hoping to shoot some hoops incognito. Unfortunately, he forgot his fake mustache and monocle. "I had on a Chinese opera bandana and I had on some protective goggles," Nash told the AFP, laughing. "As soon as I walked on they recognized me. It didn't really work." Really? Could have fooled me. I thought that was Horace Grant. Nash is in China for the week doing promotional and charity work. After a few three-on-three half-court games with local regulars, Captain Canada crossed over to the nearby soccer pitch to play a little footy. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/blog/ba...ash-joins-Beijing-pick-up-game?urn=nba,186186
How cool is that! LOL! Just go out there and have fun. Doubt the 2 guys on those posters can do this. BTW, looks like he's getting owned here. LOL!
Ha! Forgot his monocle. Reminds me of the epic "Should Rick Adelman wear a monocle??" thread. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=144103&highlight=adelman+monocle
I'm surprised that he thought no one would recognize him. I have never really bought the "I'm just a regular guy" attitude from him. He seems fake to me.
Perhaps. He has always come off as someone who doesn't shy away from the public eye yet he often acts annoyed when the lights are shining on him. He is much like the girl who dresses like a w**** and then acts upset when people gawk at her.
It just so happens that professional photographers were there to shoot the whole scene. It's publi****y stunt. Perhaps he still has plans on his own reality tv show like Shaq.
Plus he was in China.... There were lots of white dudes wearing googles and a bandana walking around.
I can't believe I missed the monocle thread the first time around. Had to pass around some rep for a few contributions.
