Depends on what you're in for... Some storylines are way off, others have been pretty good about following the book... For example: Lafayette - definitely not like the book Tara - not like the book Sookie/Bill/Eric/Pam - like the book Jason - sorta like the book in some fashions, others are way off
I think the books are better but I still like the show. I'm just about sick of the Maryann. Seriously. This story line needs to end big time.
You're very much welcome! I sent the link to my Auntie who is a religious church going lady(not that there's anything wrong with that), and she loves the show.
well i'm glad maryann's story is done in the show... i just finished book 2, and i can't believe how far they expanded on her story here vs how small of a part she had in the book. hopefully in future episodes we will get more of the queen and that story, i like her
I wouldn't call it really bad but didn't live up to the prior episodes leading up to it. I haven't read the book(s) but from I've read from posters they really expanded MaryAnn's role so I would have wanted a bang to finish the season instead of 30 minutes of ciaos and 30 minutes of closure. One question, that was Eric at the end dragging Bill off right? If not, please don't meantion who as I want to read the third book till season 3 starts.
i think at some point they're going to need to either combine books in to one season, omit an entire book, or do episodes more often. i can't see this show keeping all of the primary actors for 8 more years.
I thought the vast majority of season 2 was a complete and utter ****. Maryann's character dragged and dragged and dragged. I just don't understand why they couldn't have stuck with the story in the books much better. I understand the need to expand on some characters and I had no problem at all with what they did in season 1. I love Lafayette and what they have done with both Bellafluer's (but no Portia?). I really enjoyed Tara's character in season 1 but in season 2 I thought she was pretty annoying. I think they seriously dropped the ball by omitting certain characters like JB and most importantly Bubba. How in the hell have they missed Bubba? What a freaking awesome character that they could have done a TON with. Something else that has really irritated me is how they have not made Eric's character more important. There is so much more than what they have shown and the little they have shown, in my opinion, has been misleading. There is no way that Eric would have put up with Bill talking to him the way that he did. Eric has shown time and time again that he is a mother ****ing pimp and that he was going after Sookie. I just don't get it. Also, how they passed up on Eric busting in a an orgy in pink spandex is beyond me. It could have been a classic moment. This season has all in all been pretty disappointing. I hope they decide to stay more true to the books next season and I'm really looking forward to meeting Alcide. If Alcide doesn't show up, I'm going to be super ****ing pissed. There are fantastic stories at their disposal. Stop ****ing them up.
definitely... Maryann should have been a minor sub-plot at best... (like it was in the book) I'm still optimistic about them introducing Bubba. Portia, maybe not. I really love that they've given Terry more screen time. I hope that trend continues. ^THIS. IS. THE. TRUTH. Though I really think they'll have to lay really heavy into Eric's storylines to make up for their lack thereof thus far. I can't freaking wait. Bill and Sookie are sooooo overrated. Totally. There's plenty of stuff to work with. I'm really looking forward to getting more in depth with the whole shifting community.
It would have been better if the season ended with Godric's death. Everythign after that feels bolted on.
Not long now until the 3rd season kicks off. It looks to be pretty damn cool with the werewolves and all.
