I just noticed I'm sporting an 04/07 on my F-150. Granted, I almost never drive it, but...... I also have a 94 sticker on my Mustang. (also never drive) surely some off ya'll have slipped......???
3 months.....got a ticket....got it inspected 10 min later....got said ticket dropped....paid court fees....
Just got one for five months over. I saw the cop, but didn't think he'd be able to see it. I told him, "Good eye." He said he'd let me off if it were two months or less, thereby invalidating every statement Sabout cops FFB's ever made.
i currently have 04/08 on my cadillac... But i haven't driven it in about 2 months..so when its time to drive it again, ill get a new one. its only 15 bucks..since its an 84.
oh, i paid the $40 last year. They said it would be the last year since my car will be 25 years old this year. Hey I'm 25 years old this year too, that is neat.
Drove a 89 Merk Grand Mark to work & back 2.5 years between inspections without getting stopped (03 thru 06, Missouri City & Alief areas). Not a slip, just something that passed from one "to do" list to the next. Did get a "hoa" citation for illegal parking in that time frame though. Oh LL, the vehical has to have wheels on it to qualify!!!
I don't get inspections until I get a ticket for them. So I've been 3 years + without inspections in the past. There's no extra charge for it being expired a while (like registration), and it's got me out of speeding tickets in the past. The police pull you over for speeding, but "do you a favor" by giving you a ticket for the expired inspection. Most judges will dismiss that ticket if you bring the receipt in for the inspection. It backfired on me two weeks ago, though. I went to Galveston in my work car, for which the inspection had expired in 8/08. They had a motorcycle cop set up in the middle of the road (dangerous, I thought) checking for registrations and inspections. He pulled me over for just that and gave me a ticket. The judge dismissed it with a receipt, but I donated $20 to Galveston's recovery effort for that dismissal.
I used to have an 82 volvo and I drove it for right over a year past the inspection date until I got a ticket. The color of the sticker on my car was yellow, and then when the new year came out it was green I think, and that is when it became too obvious. I told the cop "yeah, you know I just don't drive this car that much"....he responded with something to the effect of, "yeah...but it's been a year", lol.
I've seen auto burglary where they steal the rims, the stereo, etc... but never this bad. You, sir, have been robbed by experts. I hope they catch the guys who did that to your car.
The longest I've witness someone with an expired inspection sticker is like 2 years... Just have to know where to drive and what to avoid...
