Looks like they're canceling it. I used to watch this a lot. Sucks.

sorry but compared to when i was growing up, they have way more educational, funnier and entertaing shows than reading rainbow or anything else on pbs back then.

between the lions, word girl, fetch amongst other make me wish i had that watch back in those lame old summer days than reading rainbow and any other garbage that was in the air back then. the new shows even entertain me now as an adult. where i never cared much for reading rainbow

    the theme song 0wned!

Ghost Writer was badass but after they got some newer characters it got stupid. I had a crush on that one main chick, the hispanic one.

Reading Rainbow was undoubtedly my favorite show as a young child. One of the greatest TV theme songs of all time, too. I especially remember the episode where they followed LeVar Burton around filming how Star Trek was made. There was a lot of great stuff and some great books on the show.

LeVar Burton and He-Man, those were my heroes at 4.

"We drove, and drove, and drove..."

If you can't make a toy, video-game, live show or sugary cereal out of it, then no go. I guess that's the reality of non-profit, educational television nowadays.

No more Square One ("that's in-fi-ni-teeee") or Secret City either.

I honestly didn't realize this show was still on the air.

I always liked the one where Levar was dressed in goat makeup and he went to the goat restaurant.

I can hear LeVar's goat voice in my head right now. Yoda could have slapped his ass with a lawsuit.

I'll admit I hated the show as a little kid, so whatever. Now Carmen Sandiego, that was great. Never could get enough of that.
