Well, I am from Syndey, originally, but I now live in Seattle, Washington. What is it like following the Rockets in Oz? I only became a fan after moving to the U.S., so I have no idea.

    Wooohoooo, another Aussie Rocketeer!!
    Canberra here.

When you don't have pay TV, this site makes it a whole lot easier. Can't trust ESPN or NBA.com to give you reliable Rocket info.

I'm in Melbourne here. I bet you guys didn't know an Aussie was drafted today by the Hawks. Dave Andersen , I hadn't heard of him until a week or so ago when NBA.com had draft profiles.

Well, if it wasn't for this site and the net...it would be #$#@

Our coverage here flat out sux. They screwed up cable tv here via the "competition legislation" (LONG story)

There is an appeal on now to allow FOX and OPTUS to share content. Thus...you MAY be able to get fox AND the ESPN channel.

That would mean 3 to 4 NBA games a week:)

Getsmart...heard about Anderson. The second round means he has no guarantee, just a trial I'd imagine.

Speaking of OZ b-ball...how bad a state is it in.

The Kings and the Titans both bankrupt. (For USA people, that's like the Bulls and the Lakers both declaring for recievership)

The game here is dying slowly. It will be back to the 'tin shed' days soon...

That's a pain I know all too well. I went to MSD (Melbourne Sports Depot), and they have a pretty wide selection of singlets. But the guy who served me hadn't even HEARD of the Houston Rockets?!! I have a Rockets Barkley singlet, but it's way to small for me now.

Oz bball has gone down the shi**er the last few years. My beloved Titans, who I thought were going to be on of the last teams to go into voluntary ownership, are in trouble. The Tigers lost their major sponser and now play in a netball stadium. Urgh, it really pisses me off! :(

Do any of you guys remember when chanel 10 had NBA Game of the Week on at midday on Saturdays? Then they put them on at 1:30 am on Fridays, and then took them off altogether. There aren't even NBA Offices in Austalia anymore, it changed to NBA Australasia!
    END RAGE

I live in Hoppers Crossing, Melbourne, and it is really good to see a lot of Australian Rocket supporters around.. Most of the people i know here, either go for lakers, or knicks......which sux cos u know u cant have a decent basketball conversation with those supporters :)
And regarding the pay TV thing. it sux that the area i live in doesnt even install optus television.......and Foxtel doesnt even have adequate NBA coverage........
Maybe if we got a petition going to one of the Major Networks, they would consider bringing NBA back free-to-air........

After alot of support for the World Cup, SBS, on of the television networks (which originally didnt have any World Cup coverage available), telvevised 48 games free-to-air. Now that is wat i am talking bout. Basketball fans down under dont really show the passion for the sport. Cos if they did there would not be any issues regarding having NBA on tv.

I'm from Perth but I've lived in Houston for the last 5 years. Good to see a few more Aussies popping up.

i think you should rename this thread to "who here hates foxtel's sports coverage". would be bombarded with nasty/evil/hateful comments.

    i'm in melbourne (prahran).

BigSexy: are you a member of the "hoppers crew" @parties/raves/odd club do? And i hope you have a good reason to be "living" (as if possible) in hoppers... :)

go aussies, go aussies, go aussies, go aussies!!!!!

guys, do not worry...I think you will soon be able to buy ming jerseys. if you have any problems, I will help you get jerseys anytime you want.

I love the international dealio on this site and I expect we will see more and more added.

btw: a shout out to our Slovanian bretheren too. Saphan welcome to the site and I am certain the Slovanian Bomber Boki will rock Houston. Last night Boki was presented to the fans at a Houston Comets WNBA game (about 12,000 screaming teenage girls) and he got a roaring cheer and danced during a timeout with some cheerleaders and random little kids at midcourt. Moochie Norris was out there too and was laughing at him because he said he danced like Steve Francis!!!! (which is with no rhythm). Boki will be a fan favorite for sure...you can already see it

i think the nba should have an exhibition game played in australia just to boost the support for basketball in australia.Does anyone remember when drexler and olajuwon were in sydney in 1995 promoing the nba.

Did anyone go see yao ming at the sydney olympics.
