Brrandon was more scorer especially early in his career. Later on he became a pretty good decision maker.

Brooks has got a long way to go. His decision making might improve a bit,but I doubt if he can come close to playing like a true point guard.

Adelmans offense is the pg like it or not. Bibby was more scorer than pg under adelman. I think his decision making will be better minus yao and artest.

you have to be stupid to think Lowry should still be the starting pg

I hope you are right. I was kind of shocked to see him struggle with that in SL. I don't know if you can improve that very much either...

I love watching other points try to back him down and fail.

My wife confuses Lowry and Hayes, which is hillarious because of their size difference but I guess they have the same build. Stout and quick.

I think people get caught up in traditional positions. Phil nor Adelman has ever hade ball dominating pg in pure form. The triangle just like the flexor princeton is a passing offense that requires read and react. Bibby in vancouver was a 8asst guy, but in sacramento he was a 4-5 asst guy. Terry porter, although he had a couple of assist seasons when they were scoring 130 a game, he was better when he was dropping 20 for portland.

I like lowry and always has, but if lowry is the pg, you need finishers. That's why he played well with landry and wafer. Those guys could just catch and finish. Brooks, it really doesn't matter. He's not the pure pg of lowry, but he's a guy who will create havoc against opposing defense. I think without Artest waiting on the ball or holding his hands out for it and just the sheer difficulties of getting yao the ball, he will play more on instinct and not overthink.

I agree 100%, but I do think Lowry could be the guy we go with in the long run... To me, he just has a higher understanding of where we need to get the ball and when. But, like you said, that may not be as important with the summer league squad we are throwing out next year.

If Lowry ever gets a reliable 3-ball, watch out NBA...

I am glad we have both and trust Adelman to start the best one of the two.

I keep having visions with AB of "dribblemania" ... I remember a few sequences quite vividly of AB with the ball, dribbling on the perimeter, using his speed to try to get to the basket only to find a long defender there and he goes around the baseline and kicks it out to a covered man on the perimeter with 5 seconds left on the shot-clock.

I fear seeing more of this in the next season.

Some days he really had it going, and was able to stop-n-pop effectively. Other days, he was like SF3 but worse (shorter).

Get ready for opposing teams packing the lane or playing a sagging zone. Wthout Tracy and Yao we may not have a player who demands a double team. If I'm coaching agaisnt the Rockets I'm playing everyone straight up.

Zactly. Straight up, pack it in. Make everybody shoot long jumpers.

    This means:

    1. Scola/Anderson have to hit the 17 footer consistently to draw defenders out.

    2. Combination shooter/slashers are going to be very important to our success. We need a guy that can shoot 50% from the field, 40% from distance, and get his own shot off. Can Brooks do that? Who else?

You can win games without having guys that need to be doubled. Can you win a ring? Very, very hard, but if you move bodies like adelman wants and you get slashers and guys that can transition, you can score enough points. When guys are cutting, curling, setting down screens and such, the defense has to respect that and guard players. They cant just sit in the paint because at some point you will have a big guarding a small guy. The reggie miller pacers won alot of games and made it to a finals without a guy needing a double. The pistons that won a title didn't have a double guy either. If rasheed played on the blocks 70% of the time, then yeah, but we know he was only there about 15%.

Seriously, Why do people want to trade Kyle Lowry?? He plays hard, excellent D, Takes the ball to the basket, passes well, can hit mid range shots, runs the fastbreak, few turnovers, runs the game well, gets to the free throw line, I mean he plays the way a point guard should play, BTW don't get Ramon Sessions, Too many dam PG's already jeez

Kyle Lowry is the purest point guard we have right now. Morey has been high on him for YEARS. No way we give him away. :D

Adelman's offense does not need a traditional PG. HOWEVER, it does need a good decision maker. In fact, it needs all 5 guys to be good decision makers.

Aaron's decision making still has a long way to go. Hope he matures soon. Right now, I feel less nervous when Lowry is running the play.
