to find the amount of electrons in each element, you look at the periodic table to determine that. hydrogen always has 1 electron(doesnt need an octet) and oxygen has 6 electrons being in that column.

to figure out the geometry, draw the lewis structure.

H-O-H(there should be a pair of electrons on top and bottom of O to form octet)

I wanted to know if the answers I posted were right or wrong, that's it. I didn't want you to give them to me if my answers were incorrect.

I'm taking prerequisite coursework to apply to the DPT program here.

Lil Pun, don't forget about significant digits. Chemistry teachers are sticklers on those types of things.

Firstly, in your original question you had 500.00 mL. That's five significant digits. So convert it to .50000 L to keep the five significant digits.

Whenever you multiply your answer must have the same number of significant digits as the least number of significant digits in your original question.

There are four sd's in .09750, five in .50000, and seven in 105.9886. Therefore, your answer should contain four significant digits. Round to 5.167.

HNO2 is polar and I think CH3- has tetrahedral electronic structure.
