Well, at least they cared enough about shooting a respectable percentage. Fundamentals my man, fundamentals.
lol sam cassell! my friend saw him in a vancouver club trying to pick up girls with NO LUCK. poor sam.. where was mystery man when he was really needed?? What's happening to the world!??!
My 1st and 2nd Teams
PG:Kenny Smith/Kenny Smith
SG:Vernon Maxwell/Clyde Drexler
SF:Robert Horry/Mario Elie
PF:Otis Thorpe/Robert Horry
C:Hakeem "The Dream" Oooolajuwon/Dream
Notice the pattern....1st and 2nd Championship baby
1st team: Kenny Smith Clyde Drexler Mario Elie Robert Horry Hakeem Olajuwon 2nd team: Steve Francis Tracey McGrady Scottie Pippen Charles Barkley Yao Ming In a 7 game series, the 1st team would take the 2nd team in 6 games
If those are the credentials then the most competitive possible lineup would be... Malone Olajuwon McGrady Drexler Pippen ---------- Barkley (emotional & offensive spark) M. Jackson (truest pg) Rice (this lineup desperately needs a sharpshooter)
PG - Tmac during 22 games winning streak. SG - Tmac during Tmac time. SF - Tmac during flying over Bradley. PF - SF3 with cheeseburgers. C - Tmac now
pg: murphy, kenny jet smith, lucas sg: drexler, mad max, mccray sf: horry, elie, rudy t pf: dream, barkley, sampson c: moses, hayes, yao
You guys are all crazy. This is my choice. Sam Cassell Mario Ellie Robert Horry Clyde Drexler and Hakeeeeeeem the Dreeeeeeeam Olaaaajuwooooooon!
PG:John Lucas/Calvin Murphy SG:Clyde Drexler/Mario Elie SF:Rudy Tomjanovich/Robert Horry PF:Elvin Hayes/Ralph Sampson C:Hakeem Olajuwon/Moses Malone Bench: Sam Cassell/Robert Reid That, folks, would be a hell of a team. I'd take them over Bird's Celtics or Magic's Lakers in a series, to say the least. You have great points who can pass and score, shooting guards who can play SF, power forwards who could play center, and vice versa, a clutch point on the bench in Sam, who could give Lucas a rest and let Murph play some crazy SG, and Bobby Joe Reid, who could play SF, PG, or SG, and play them all well. Just hand him the ball. I left out several guys I am a huge fan of (or just admire their career, warts and all), like OT, McCray, Peterson (underrated), McGrady, Barkley, Sleepy, Francis, Herrera, Allen Leavell (had several very nice years with the Rocks), and guys who should have been with us longer (besides Lucas and Sampson), like Mitch Wiggins and Lewis Lloyd. Nice summer thread!
CORRECT!! Last time i saw two sandwiches, he was passed out on the hard concrete outside a hotel in Austin after their practice. Hakeem came over and said, " Hey mon, you ok?" What a loser 2sandwiches was! I loved how he used to block people, and Calvin would scream, " TWO SAA WICHES! TWO SAA WICHES!" WE want CALVIN back!
Ralph Sampson was a center, not a power forward. It doesn't matter, you can pretty much interchange them these days anyway. Olajuwon was a true center.... Starters: PG: Calvin Murphy (He did not play in the 3 point era, so in reality you have to adjust his points upward). HIs passing skills and shooting was superior to Cassell - better overall floor general. SG: Clyde Drexler. He gets the nod over Rick Barry. As for Clyde, he simply was the one of the greatest shooting guards to play the game...only out-shadowed in his time by the great Michael Jordan, if not for MJ, Clyde might have two more rings SF: Tracey McGrady: His failure to be on good teams or stay healthy when he had one aside, he has still had an outstanding career putting up sick numbers. PF: Charles Barkley: Rounding, toughness, and scoring. All in a guy who was only six foot six. Inch for inch, perhaps the greatest power forward to play the game. Center: Dream. Pound for Pound, the greatest big man to ever play the game Reserves PG: Sam Cassell. Rick Berry was just too consistent and had abetter shot, off-setting Cassell's quickness SG: Rick Berry: Very accurate shot, very intelligent player SF: Rudy T. Put up 20 points a game and played with passion every night. Hustle guy who did more then hustle. Robert Horry is a distant 3rd PF: Elvin Hayes. I like Otis Thorpe but Thorpe was not as versatile as Hayes. Center: Mose Malone. His rebounding and inside play gives him the nod over Yao Ming. Yao is close behind though, and honestly this could very well be a toss-up. Ralph Sampson is behind these 3.
