I saw some recommendations in another thread, and I did a google search, but I could not find anything definititve. What is the nicest theater in Houston? Preferably something with great seats, a nice screen, good sound, maybe even wine served, and where price might keep out some of the louder ruffians? Perhaps that sounds a bit snobbish, but my wife is turning 40 tomorrow, and although we've technically already celebrated her birthday, I'd like to take her out for a nice relaxing night on the town (old people style).

We do live down south, but I was thinking about taking her to Feast for an early dinner, so an early matinee in town would be perfect. Town & Country is a bit far out for us, but if it is that nice, I'll consider it.
landmark in river oaks serves booze starting at 4. It isn't the greatest seats or screen though. Enjoy Feast...i recommend the chicken hearts on toast if they have it.
The Edwards IMAX theater probably has better seating/screens, you might not get the kiddie crowds if you catch the matinee either with school back in session.
Thank you.............my wife will have a cocktail or two, but it isn't really important to her. I mainly mentioned alcohol because I figured that kind of place is least likely to have a bunch of teenagers screaming and hollering. Granted, I've only encountered that a few times in my life, but it sure can ruin a movie going experience. Also, I doubt there will be too many disruptions at Julie and Julia (or whatever it is called).
You could go to the Angelika, but that theater is kind of crappy as far as quality of screen/seating/sound. Doubt you'd see any kids though, and I believe they also have a nearby place for alcohol.
there is an italian restaurant next to Angelika that you could grab a drink at. It is nice to have a drink during movies though. I did for the 1st time this past weekend. Martini at a matinee...awesome.
