man everytime i think about that play and that series in general. makes me feel better haha. with yao's injury comeback and this amazing play rockets 09-10
True, he didn't dunk the ball but that inbound pass wasnt the best either. It looked overthrown by a bit so the fact that he was able to elevate high enough just to catch the ball and finish means he does have "some" but not mad hops to him. This also doesnt mean that AB can easily dunk a ball but he probably could if he tried. He definately doesnt have it like kryptonate and Nates shorter too.
i dont know why people are saying rafer is a better finisher. I hope we dont forget the hernia inducing tear-drops that worked on every fifth game.
Not only did AB catch that pass but he controlled his body and made the shot. 17 and 6...maybe even better. DD
Very much with the FG %. Lets hope that He can control his turn overs and have a high assist to TO ratio.
I think that with or without T-Mac, Brooks is going to score in the high teens. If T-Mac is in the rotation as the first option, Brooks will be on many occasions the second option. Scola will be another good candidate for the second option, but my thinking is that since it's easier for guards to get the ball, Brooks will be getting more opportunities to establish himself in that role. 18 on 45% shooting sounds good to me.
I honestly think that Aaron Brooks will be in the top 20 in PPG next season. I don't see what plays and for whom we will be running currently for the upcoming season - apart from Scola. If Adelman lets Brooks have free reign (i would like to include that i prefer Kyle Lowry as the starter) i think he'll be right around the 20 ppg mark next season. It's another question entirely whether that calculates to W's.
Figured I'd post this here, a decent AB highlight vid with a criminally low view count: <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/0NOGJ00sP_w&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/0NOGJ00sP_w&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
He is not your best passer. He is not your best defender. Heck, he is your big time clutch player and what a swagger.
I'm wondering how Brooks' stats are affected when Yao is on and off the court. As far as I know, when comparing Brooks to Parker we also need to take into account Tim Duncan. Tim Duncan is easily a consistent double team threat, and one of the more mobile PFs to play the game (age is slowing him down however). Not to mention, Tim Duncan has a reliable mid-range game. This makes any PG's life a lot easier, and I will be interested to know how well Parker plays if he is without Duncan. Brooks need better speed management. There is no stop button once he starts driving in. His lack of height makes it difficult to throw the ball back out, and his wreckless driving throws him way off balance (his weight doesn't help much either). I believe Brooks still have a lot of room for improvement. Afterall, You can't teach speed, but you can improve your court awareness.
I think Brooks is going to have a big year. He doesn't have to wait for Yao or aloow artest to demand the ball. Hopefully in between the marriage bliss, he really works on his mid range stop and pop. I would also like to see the rockets run those legal/illegal screens the spurs run with parker in transition. When the big are running down the court, cun in the middle and make the other pg navigate thru "traffic." Parker kills at this and its almost impossible to defend because its like driving through a pylon course trying to find parker through bodies and once he gets a half a hip, its a wrap.
