Isn't this the guy that you expect to replace Kleiza? Honestly I never got why he was drafted as high as he was, but the Knicks were the team that drafted him.
He was drafted 20th. Watching him at USC I did not see him being a 1st round pick so I was shocked when he was picked 20th.
There seems to be a rash of athletes getting busted for dwi's lately. Balkman is a leaper and shotblocker not a guy you can depend on for offense, the Knicks didn't play him at the end of games because he was such a terrible FT shooter.
aussie rocket got done once for drink driving...yes its true...not quite the poster boy from downunder. Point is, I only made the mistake once, as long as Balkman learns from his trangressions then he gets a pass from me.
Balkman's the type of player who you don't appreciate unless you watch him play. He's like a homeless version of Shane Battier in that regard. Great defender, hustle guy, rebounds like no other. Shooting is, um, inconsistent to say the least. I'm hoping he gets LK's minutes, but I don't know what Karl will do. If we bring Wally in (still waiting on that one), that'll cut into Balk's minutes as well. Honestly, until the off-season is over and we know who is on the Nugs roster for next season, I'm afraid to make any predictions for playing time. Except for one -- we're better for letting LK leave.
