http://www.nypost.com/seven/08252009/sports/knicks/nate__knicks_to_talk_186322.htm Dang, Nate would not be a bad guy to have this year on the Rockets. Would make a perfect "Bobby Jackson" for Rick Adelman in the future too...
you do know 2.9 million is the Qualifying offer the Knicks signed him right...cos if we were to offer 2.9 million to him, Knicks are gonna match without a blink unless we make it like 5 years long or sumthing... that said I've love for Morey to just throw Krpyonate a long-term deal and see how NY reacts...after all, we gt nothin' to lose.....
No, I don't think so, I actually think he sees the floor better than Aaron Brooks. He is a small SG, but putting up 17-4-4 in 29 minutes with 1.8 turnovers is fantastic efficiency... I do not understand how you can be considered a "ballhog" if you almost never turn the ball over and score at such an efficient rate. I really do think that he will be the best 6th man in the league for the next decade... Bobby Jackson in 02-03... 15-3-4 with 1.8 turnovers... in 28 minutes.... Nate Robinson last year... 17-4-4 with 1.8 turnovers... in 30 minutes... Locking up a guy like that for 3 million a year would be a no-brainer imo...
Yup, for 3 million a year, I would grab him for the next decade... He is small, but he brings a ton of energy and passion every night and is a more than willing defender on a bad defensive team. I think he would be solid with Adelman... I don't know if the Rox have any money left though lol... People thought Von Wafer could score in bunches. Jesus, I watched this guy put up like 24 in a quarter last year...
Nate Robinson is kind of a head case, though I'm impressed he's toned it down some the last couple of years. The problem is the Knicks would match a cheap contract. They have him in a corner. RFAs like him (especially in a tight year) are stuck to re-sign at the qualifying offer. If Robinson has a good 09/10 season, he'll get a $20 million contract over 4-5 yrs next summer. Lifetime security will have to wait 12 more months.
If the Knicks do end up with Sessions, I wonder how far priority for Nate falls? Seems unlikely, but I wonder if he could be had for a cheap, longterm deal, this year...
The team should just focus on a sg or adding some more depth to the front court. Nate would have been great but Brooks can basically do the same thing at a controlled mode.
Nate would still have playing time for the Knicks. He is a fan favorite and like it or not, He does produce for them. He probably is aiming for a longer deal in the succeeding years. This year the money has dried up and you get what you can get or play in Europe.
despite playing well, he got benched a few times b/c he shot way too much/ignored the offense and was too reckless on the court. however, i would still love to have the guy b/c he would replace wafer easily off the bench.
Id rather have inflamation of the testes, before I every root for Nate Robinson. Under grown thug, typical punk.
??? He is a nice guy... Not a "thug" at all...Just really ridiculously outgoing... What has he done to make him a thug/punk???
he's black. I think people don't like his celebrating style, but i agree, i don't think that makes him a thug.
Two very different players. Sessions would push Duhon down the pole, not Nate Robinson. I doubt very much Robinson will sign a cheap long-term contract. For cheap he will only accept one year, which is what will happen. 99% chance it's with the Knicks or they will match a one-year offer he gets from another team. Regarding him being a thug, if this was 2 years ago I might agree. I thought he was unsalvageable and was destined to crash and burn. But he's controlled himself fairly well since then. I wonder if he would revert back with the security of a long-term contract.
Why did Nate turn down that offer from Greece, I don't see him getting anything better this year or next.
