All Star form? man.. he is running his mouth too much. he is either reall confident abt his knee (which I hope he is ) or he is just trying to get people to sign up on that site. if he doesnt keep up his word.. its gonna be a failure of EPIC proportions..
The thing is, he knows it. So it pretty much has to be true. He looks great, so maybe really he is that confident. He may suprise us.
I hope he surprises us. I really do. but he keeps sayin such stuff to the media.. its better not to.. i mean. last yr he did the same thing and screwed it up, gaining the wrath of fans.. lets hope for the best..
Someone I know who works for the rockets said he is looking really good and is going to be ready for the season opener but said he basketball ops is going to hold him out a little longer.
T-Mac still has some game left in the tank. But he has become quite nimble, and easily injured. With Yao most likely out for the whole season, he is a vital part to this team, which needs an explosive scorer. Ariza, Lowry, Brooks, Scola, and Landry, are good pieces around him. But, without him there, it will be another "the team plays hard every night" type of season. With Deke gone, Im content with the additions they have added. At this point, I think Scola & Landry really have to work on their offensive arsenal, because the post game has to be very effective this year without Yao there. Sometimes, they can play Scola as pf, and have Landry as sf, to see how they both play alongside each other. Not all the time, cause Ariza needs a lot of pt. Another thing that dissapoints me is the Von Wafer issue. I think they should have tried to keep him more than they did. Maybe it was something they couldnt control, but losing a slasher like Von will really be missed. Plus, he was a good 3-point shooter. Honestly, I think moving Shane (although he has contributed more than Von has ever had) to keep Wafer wouldnt have been such a bad option. Shane's defensive minded, but our team is based around dfense already, so I think adding some punch in the offense would have been better. Plus, hes kinda a liability on offense, whereas Von can bring a potential 15-30 points a night. The starting 5 Id like would be Andersen, Scola/Landry, Ariza, McCrady, Lowry. It doesnt seem intimidating, but its a formiddable line-up giving the fact that we lost pieces, and Yao is out. Anyone feel the same?
Also, I think the team is in somewhat of a doozie. The undetermined state of Yao career really leaves a huge question mark on the future (within the next 2-5 years) in the NBA. With McCrady a question mark already, the team all of sudden looks like a bunch of 40-year olds, trying to keep up with the new school. I think in the near future, the Rockets will look totally different from now. Youth is key, but SIZE is key as well. We have a history of getting 6', 6'1, 6'6, 6'7, 6'8 players, mainly power fowards. Thats not short in reality, but on the court, they usualy go up against cats that dang near 7' tall. Chuck Hayes, although I appreciate his defense, should be traded. I know a team would want him for that reason, but we need to enhance our offensive talents. It would be different if worked on some mini-hooks or 15' jumpers, but I guess they feel comfortable with him just defending. And hes okay, but hes still too short, so players who are taller dont necessarily have to back em' in, they can just shoot over him. Also, that guy we got mid-season, the guy that had that Ytube vid of him dunking, I cant remem his name, but he just seems too small or too skinny. I saw him in a home game, when the game was pretty much over, and he just seemed slow or something. Maybe he was just relaxing, getting the feel of actually playing again, I dont know. But I predict the Rockets will do pretty much what they did last year. I see 50-32 or a little under that. But the games against the Lakers at home will be awesome, there gonna boo Artest, and hes gonna act all r****ded with the fans as usual....L8
I wish I did, but, bless your heart, I hope you are right. I think the Rockets are going to get killed, will struggle to win 30 games, and that TMac will not last but a few games if he comes back at all. I keep replaying last year's playoffs for comfort. We have a 235 lb center, are you kidding? Scola and Brooks will have to score 30 each for us to be in a game. I sure hope Morey has a plan B, because plan A is a loser.
So I was bored and googled to see if there was any recent news on Mac besides what I gathered here on bbs.. Stumbled upon something that was posted on lakersground. Now I heard about that whole Vegas trip he took and saw the photos with Pierce,J.O, AL etc. but this was something different. The member stated it was just this saturday? well.. here's the link: http://forums.lakersground.net/viewtopic.php?p=2640747 and for those who wish not to click, I understand Posted: Sun Aug 23, 2009 3:19 pm Post subject: Saw TMac and Jermaine O'Neal in Vegas this weekend (TMac dissing Artest, Kobe - He was drunk) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I was at Tao Nightclub last night in Vegas and bumped into TMac and Jermaine O'Neal of all people. They were drunk off their rocker, and I was able to have a quick chat with TMac near the bar. I told him I'm a Laker fan and asked for his opinion on Ron. He said Ron is a, and I quote, "two-faced" type of guy, mentioning that he and Kobe would not get along because they were never able to build a relationship themselves. He then went on to say, "man, Kob goes on and whines about wanting a team, and they surround him with all stars, if you put that team around me, I would win a championship to". Jermaine started laughing and they walked away all smug, laughing and high fiving each other with some 2 other dude's and some girls. He wouldn't even let me rebut his claims. Anyways, I thought he and Kobe were friends, sounds bitter to me. I was going to ask for a picture but they just walked away. I didn't get a good impression at all.
You are VERY pessimistic here. Scola and Brooks has already showed they can play. And it shouldn't be a big problem for Aaron to score points, he was doing that back in college. Sure, we are not gonna compete for the Championship or anything like that, we'll be fighting for playoffs. But in my opinion, we can be sucesfull, we can easily get 6th-8th seeds but it will depend on McGrady. Nobody knows when McGrady will be back. But we can be optimistic. Remember DWade? He had a real serious shoulder injury and knee injury to go along with that. Nobody really expected him to be a superstar again but what he did, was he came back better than ever. What I mean by that is Tim is really a great coach, he knows what it takes to be the best. Maybe Tracy was not known for working hard in offseasons, but I can guarantee you that he has been working his butt off. He is now doing everything at full speed so physically he should and probably will be ready for the training camp. The problem is basketball shape. He may have to take few weeks off to work on that.
Anyway, T-Mac is a hero of our team; we could never forget him. Where ever he goes, we should thanks regarding to his contribution.
Trust me, I hope I am wrong, but I just don't see where the offense is coming from. Anderson is a stick and is going to get really pushed around by the centers in the NBA. Even Yao got pushed around, come to think of it. The current lineup simply does not match up with most teams, especially in the West. Hopefully, some more moves are coming.
They have to by default. The team is lacking in offensive options that it will have to start at the point to create scoring options for the rest like Scola and Trevor. Despite the skills of Trevor, He needs someone to lure the defense off him for him to create his shot. This holds true with Scola too.
