Oski (and anyone else who didn't know about getting an egg on your burger): IHOP has great burgers and one of them includes a fried egg on top. I had it and it was amazing. Red Robin is another place where you can get a burger this way - don't know if there are any in Texas but there are some in Tennessee and Alabama. Red Robin has so many different types of gourmet burgers - it is easily one of my favorite restaurants. As for what I like to put on a burger: Can't stand lettuce, tomatoes, and onions - BLECH, also not a fan of mayo; I generally like cheese (any type), bacon, mustard, and barbecue sauce/A-1 steak sauce. Also, I'll put ketchup on my burger and last I checked, I am most certainly NOT a damn yankee. I also like getting jalapeno peppers on my burger but about the only place I find where you can get that is a 5 Guys and Fries or Red Robin or some other specialty burger place.

I've known for like 9 years now. The Royal Red Robin is one of my favorites. Speaking of Red Robin, dipping those bottomless steak fries in that honey mustard sauce (the one with the poppy seeds) is damn good eats.
Surf Club here in Corpus has their signature burger that's pretty good -- burger is topped with refried beans, fritos, onions, salsa, and cheddar cheese. The flavors go well together, surprisingly.
a burger with a fried egg is called a texas burger in may places outside texas. never quite figured out why???
Replace the onions with tomatoes and put some Tabasco on the top bun before the mayo and ketchup and then you'll have it right... I worked at a Burger King in Colorado in high school, and they called Whoppers with mustard instead of ketchup Texas Whoppers...
The ground beef, cheese, onions, beans (usually not refried), and salsa basically make what's known as "salsa chili". A lot of people just throw it on a hot dog (chili dog) usually. There are lots of places that'll top a burger with chili, but there's only one place I think I've really liked it and it was insane and pure evil. That was the #6 at the Bellaire Broiler Burger : http://tinypic.com/y0x2d
