With school starting back up tomorrow, summer is officially over. To those of you starting class, good luck. Time to get stuck in traffic on my way to UH!
Yay i love traffic...not. I have my first class at at 830...i live in spring. Any advice on when to leave my house heading from 45 S towards uh?
I'd say you should probably have left 45 minutes ago. I only have 1 class on site, other 3 are online. Oh the joys of being an internet nerd.
So basically its going to be a nightmare driving there Ya i made a mistake and took only 1...but the bauer school didnt have many online classes..unless i looked over them.
I'd say you have to leave by 7 am at latest. Estimate about an hour drive, then 30 min for parking and walking to classes. Keep in mind it's the first day, so expect a little chaos once you get near campus.
Just got to campus... Man it is way too early. Hour commute, not too bad. Now i'm gonna endlessly check clutchfans and hope this ends soon.
This is my favorite time of year. For the first time in 3 months, my wife (a teacher) was up before me this morning.
Any early reports on the traffic down there? My class is in the Cullen building luckily, which isn't too far from the back student lot. UH sent out an email with a new mobile app and twitter page for traffic. http://www.uh.edu/police/UHlotmap.html http://twitter.com/UH_Traffic
http://traffic.houstontranstar.org/twitter/ Pick the freeways you travel and send it to your phone. It's much better than having to scan the radio for a traffic update when you leave for school/work. This may be similar to what UH_Traffic is, but I thought I'd post it for all.
The "September 21st" stuff doesn't matter except to calendar nerds. Or people who are not connected with the school year and had to work this whole time anyway. I feel like summer is ending way too quickly. I was teaching summer school the whole time anyway, but there is a more relaxed schedule and little breaks at the beginning and end. The odd thing is, today I'm already back for fall, but still sitting around the house because the school I actually attend doesn't start for another week. We have to be about the last ones. I teach night classes at two different schools, though, which have both already started back. It means this whole week I get to sleep late. Still not looking forward to fall though. I used to. Now it's just like, who cares...
Not really. 4 months of 100 degree days have made this summer drag like no other...and I'm usually a fan of Summer.
Wow. Nice TRAFFIC MAP. Thanks for that, moes. Although I am not there, it's nice to see Twitter and Google Maps with a good application; so did only students get that, or was it the entire University of Houston Central Park body of faculty, staff, and students?
Thats when I sit back, relax, and thank god for living in Europe and going back to college on the 21st of September.
