ron artest to me the whole time in houston was putting up an act to win the trust and fans. but now i say he didnt care if we even lost to the lakers and he chooses to sign with the team that beat us? i call this a betreyal of houston. it was not houstons fault he wanted a S&T but didnt get it. who is he going to lock down? he gets blow bye easily. when tracy comes back i would like to see a 3 pointer in ron artests face and all net. Or see luis scola out power him in the paint. he is just building up drama. you got your new contract dont cause any trouble to us anymore we have trevor tracy, yao for 201. lets hope we can win!

He's entertaining and I still got love for artest! It's not his fault for leaving cause the rockets didn't want him back. Sucks that he went to the lakers, but it's the rockets fault cause if they offered him more than 1 year he would have signed. I don't know how anyone can blame artest in this matter. It's the rockets that didn't want him, not the other way around.

I agree DD. He cannot stay in fron of guys like LeBron, Kobe, Wade, etc... He may be effective against some 3/4 guys in this L, but he no longer can contain best players. He has lost his step on defense.

Btw it is so weird to hear 'I am glad he is gone' from you'. And damn, I am even more glad he is gone. I know I know, we advaned with him to the 2nd round and sure he deserves some credit for that.

Right now, it looks like his mind last season before every game wasn't like 'ok, let's win this damn game, we are better, Go Rockets!'.

It was more like 'Damn, it is my contract year!! I don't give a damn about the final score, they key is to go out there score as many as I can and try to stay under control on the floor. Hell, I may go to the Lakers next season!!'

And it is horrible. I am turning into 'Ron hater'.

Any artest hate is completely unjustified by rockets fans. The rockets only offered 1 year. How can you expect any player to accept that? The rockets kicked out the door and now you're all blinded by hatred. So stupid. How can you hate on someone that morey didn't even want back? That's some messed up logic.

I never wanted him here, ever....I did not mind the trade because we gave up so little, but I figured he would never work out in Houston, I hate his game.

QFT. Im so tired of hearing how people feel betrayed by him... the Rockets DID NOT WANT HIM! The Rockets offered him one year for basically posterity. He got a 5 year deal from the Lakers.

Alright. He'll get revenge at us with his 20-foot fadeaway bricks. Nice Ron, nice.

Locked da F***'d up? seriously, he's lost a step or two or three. His lateral quickness isn't where it's used to be. He can only defend players with speeds of a 3 or 4. He gets blown by quite often trying to stop the quicker 2 gaurds. One right left cross and they blow right by him. Gambles too much, and gets outboard. Have you seen his hops? comparible to a bum knee mac if not worse. But yeah, H-Town did do you dirty, telling you they can offer only a 1 year deal just to offer Ariza the full 5. (you can say vice versa about Ariza) I wasn't too high about him when he landed here, but just liked him cause...simply he was a Rocket. I'll give it to him for his ability to muscle up on some of the slower players, his hounding defense, hitting some ridiculously lookin off balance trifectas. Things i didnt like about his game was: inability to finish around the basket (got blocked a grip load of times), taking low percentage shots, jacking 3's, ball stopper, not running the offense, selfish, defending the PnR, and getting outboard by his opponent. Homeboy got no hops period. He got bailed by the wistle many times which helped us win games though. Dude never left LA after the playoffs says it all, just a big front. A buddy of mine who is a die hard Lakers fan knew since the biginning of last season that Artest is signing with LA this year. Speaking of Artest and Ariza, ask yourself this, who is more likely to get posterized by who? If both was under a basket, who'd be the one with the board? If LA brought him in with ONLY the intentions for his "D", I think we got the better end of the stick. Don't talk smack cause we didnt change our minds, you're just "a rental"

Seriously, I hate the way he plays......at least offensively...and this last year defensively for the most part too.

    Oh well.

He has a guard type brain in an power forward's body, rarely do you see him take advantage of his strength in the post. If he had any type of discipline he could average 20 pts a game on 50% shooting.

He sucks in the post, look at his stats, they are horrible in close.....

Teams no longer cover him with smaller players, and he is not quick enough to go around the bigger ones anymore.

Ron plays mostly outside and jacks up crap shots, and he makes just enough of them to convince himself he can keep on hitting em.

He is a liability in every sense of the word on a team.

The only redeeming quality he has is his competitive nature, but that is more than offset by his near r****ded behavior on the court.

Right now I can say I agree. At first I tried to belive that him and Tracy would work out together.

But the pretty much do these same things. They are both ball stopers and they like to jack up shots. We didn't have a chance to watch them play together healthly but I doubt It would have ever worked.

I'd say Ron is Tracy McGrady without talent but with effort/heart.

Ron is no where on Macs level when healthy.

McGrady when healthy or atleast close to healthy = 43%+ shooting on bad shots, WAY better passing, and a BETTER team player.

Here we go, now it will fall on TMac and his legions of fans to get the job done on Ron. If TMac is still here that is.

He is a bruiser and he is not fast enough to overcome his bulk which slows him down vehemently. You could watch him getting past opponents by overpowering them instead of outquicking them.
He had a bad first half of a season and bounced back once the playoffs kicked off. He kind of vanished in the Lakers series.
He is not as bad as you make him out to be. I will withhold my judgment because of one mediocre season. The only thing I can say is that I don't like the Fakers so I won't root for him.

He did not know his role and constantly attempted to go beyond...to the detriment of the team.

Against Portland Brandon Roy torched him for 40+ points, and the series turned when Battier got more run on Roy.

Artest is a head case, a knucklehead, a crazy man in the locker room and on the floor.

You can not count on him when the going gets tough because he doesn't have enough self control to stay within the team concept.

I, for one, am dancing on his Rocket's grave.

    Jiggity, jiggity, jigitty,

At this point in his career, Artest's ability to lock up a player depends on his ability to intimidate that player. That's why he's so effective against LeBron (who allows Ron-Ron's physicality to get under his skin) and so innefective against Kobe (who laughs him off). Since most of these Rockets played on the same team as him last year, I'm guessing not many would be very intimidated.
