I think the Rockets will not keep #15, thus I have them trading to the pick. There are different reports that have us trading up and down, so i wanted to know what someone else was thinking.

I think that unless a diamond falls from the previous 14 picks into the Rockets laps, they are going to trade it. I just hope they do not trade it to Memphis to satisfy their debt. This pick is worth a lot more than a pick at the same spot in other years. If a team can get Courtney Alexander (a potential superstar) for a #17 pick then the #15 is worth a lot more than a #15 next year.

I think we will keep the pick and use it on Woods (if he's available), Nachbar, or possibly Welsch. If Butler drops to 10-11 as some mocks have it we may try to trade for him, or we may trade down and pick Prince if the right deal somes along from someone in the 17-22 range (Washington?). If the odds were right, I'd say Welsch, but the safe money says Nachbar.

Good thing the mock contest is closed or I might try to change my 15 from Nachbar to Welsch....

15, KT, and Cato for Jumaine Jones and 6.

We could get Butler wih 6. Too bad this deal is lopsided.
    Ming/Collier/37(Jennings,???)
    Griffin/MoT/Tmo
    Butler/Jones/Tmo
    Mobley/Torres
    Francis/Mooch/ Tierre(Please Save Him)

I was beginning to think the same thing. It seems that all of the scouting reports say that Welsh is a better shooter than Nachbar, knows how to play defense, and can play multiple positions at the 1, 2, or 3. The only problem is doesn't have the true SF body that Nachbar has. This shouldn't matter if we have Ming and EG in the middle though.

Please Rockets don't take Woods , the last thing we need is another no defense guy.

Suppose Amare Stoudamire slips to us at #15. The Rockets apparently would rather trade down than take him. Here's a deal that could work. Portland likes Amare and is said to be offering the #21 pick + Zach Randolph to get him. Here's the deal:

    Rockets trade:
    #15 (Stoudamire)
    Jason Collier

    for
    #21 (Prince or Jacobsen)
    Zach Randolph

Trade works on realgm.com. Just wonder if we'd be making a huge mistake in dealing a future star in Amare.

I like a trade with Portland for Zach Randolph and their pick. That would give us a potential banger on the inside as well as a gunner from the outside in Prince or Jacobsen (something I think we are lacking).

The Clippers already have more picks than they want. I think they are trying to trade picks for players, not the other way around.

Why not take Amare Stoudamire? I'll be pissed if we chase somebody else and he is still on the board. I'll even be pissed if we trade down in a strong draft. The last several drafts have not been good. Now we have a real chance to get some talent and we're tarding DOWN? crazy.

I like Amare just as much as the next guy, but the hole at SF is huge. Rockets' management may be reluctant to add a 4th power forward instead of a 3.

If Stoudamire's there at 15, ya gotta tak'em. However, the mid-first round prize is gonna be Nachbar. Dude is tall, shoots lights-out, and can drive to the hole like crazy. He's a one-handed jamming machine from the vids and scripts I've seen and read.

The 15th pick in this draft is like an 8 pick in any other. DON'T TRADE UP - DON'T TRADE DOWN.... too much risk in either. Besides, rookies are paid peanuts compared to an established player; plus, got no baggage.

Hell, everyone's got a European but us... now we can get one. Just remember, everyone though the Grizz were nuts to take Gasol with the 3 pick last year. Would you trade KT AND the 15 for Gasol? In a heartbeat. But the Grizz wouldn't touch that.

So there it is..... if Stoud's on the board, gotta take him. If Nach is there, take him, be content, and get ready to light-it-up next year.

I think the Rockets need defense out of the three(Griffin should be a monster eventually at the 4 so I'm not concerned about the interior D there). In addition, that same person needs to be able to bust from outside.
I'd deal one of our PF's..KT,Cat,and the aforementioned 15, for someone like Odom, and another quality frontcourt player.
Again,defense...both individually and teamwise is needed.
OMT..To me Cat is hurting the progress of Steve and the rest of our team.I know many like him and he does have
    a friendly contract
    is Steve's best bud
can take over a game beating you off the dribble or with the J
    great work ethic,etc....but,
From day one it has always been"me and Steve" with a head getting bigger and bigger. He reminds me of World B. Free...
    HIS D IS SORELY LACKING.
He refuses to feed the post at the precise time when the big man has his man sealed off.His entry passes are horrible.
He singlehandedly kills the shot clock
    ..and he is a jack.
I know it will probably never happen, but I think he needs to be dealt for an established 3.
Personally,I like Kareem Rush and think he's going to be one helluva 2.
