    So...

    A) You're questions weren't serious because you acknowledge that none of them were actually plotholes and you were "j/k"
    B) You WERE serious but now realize that you just didn't actually think about the movie
    C) You are a meth head

    Please, select one.

Movie reminds me a lot of a cartoon. Entertaining and compelling nevertheless.

    D) It's a freakin' Sci-Fi flick, so any serious discussion goes out the window? Yes, those are plot holes in my opinion. But who cares, I'm on meth.

I agree...the sequel has a lot of potential.

The only part I didn't like was how easy Wilkus was able to fly their hidden craft and use the robot suit.

Second best movie I have seen this summer, a close second to Star Trek.

Was a good movie. BUT, there is one question that has been really bothering me... and I would have liked this movie A LOT better if this had been addressed:

If they could have been tractor beamed off of the planet all along (by remote desktopping into the mothership's computers) then what was the point of gathering the fuel for 20 years??? They didn't really need to fly to the ship at all! so annoying.

Then how was the mothership just floating there?

Why cant the power sources be independent? My car stereo will run for a few hours off battery power after I run outta gas.

Marty McFly could drive the DeLorean down Main St but he needed the lightning bolt to power the Flux Capacitor to send him back to the future.

The ship has enough power to hover. Its just parking. Christopher Johnson had spent the last 20 years developing a way to create the ship's primary fuel...he finally found the raw material, synthesized it, and probably woulda left that night if it hadnt turned out to be eviction day.

here's my big (actually little) gripe with the movie. when wikus was growing his prawn hand, and the warlord/mob boss guy said "cut it off, i want it". was that because he wanted to eat it and become him? because it seems to me that a simple solution to using alien weaponry would be to kill a prawn, chop off its hands, and use those hands to fire the guns?

It has to do with certain real beliefs in parts of Africa where if you eat the flesh of an animal you gain their power. Forgot what the actuall term is called but it's based in some mystic mumbo jumo. Some really messed up things that would shock you. Like if you have sex with a virgin you'll be cured of HIV or if you eat some animal (forgot which one)you'll become an invisible warrior.

Anyway, that was what eating the prawn flesh was all about.

I was under the impression the fuel was for the little ship and to charge the computer

I was wondering . . .what was 'chris' doing when they 1st hit earth and was in the ship starving?

When they 1st landed. . . they sat there and the humans had to bust in to help them . . cause they were starving .. . what was 'Chris' doing at this time? Did the ship 'fix' itself after 20 yrs?

One more thing . .. humanity is trying to figure out the alien tech . . but no humans are station ON THE FRICKING SHIP FLOATING IN THE SKY?
