Pops does not equal Landry. No way Morey sees him as an adequate replacement. Morey will not make a move to downgrade a position, even backup pf. He always tries to upgrade.

However, pops does equal dorsey if not slight upgrade for 3rd string C. I don't see this being any more than that. Especially since it's just a partially guaranteed contract.

True. Pops can not match up with the things Landry does for this team. His presence is just an insurance if Andersen can not fill the center position effectively. The team can not live with Hayes playing the center for the whole year.

    Brooks, Lowry, Barry
    Ariza, Taylor, White
    Battier, Budinger, McGrady
    Scola, Landry, Dorsey, Cook, Pops
    Andersen, Hayes, Yao

    17 contracts, possibly 16 guaranteed.

Rockets are already around $4M over LT. They're not going to bump up that figure to $5M or more for nothing.

Guys i've seen this guy play plenty of times, not that he got many minutes, but in the time he got he's shown VERY little. this guy is being brought in for potential, nothing more, nothing less, he's not going to replace anyone.

Can't believe he got 17 pages of responses....I guess there isn't much to get excited about in Rockets land at the moment.

JUST FOR FUN. but wut if we now traded landry for sessions. then used brooks, mcgrady and battier in the previous rumord trade with phoenix and get stoudemire and jrich(i understand there would be fillers invovled to match the contracts)...then do the 1 or 2 year s/t with iverson. line up:

    sessions/lowry
    iverson/j-rich/sessions/taylor
    ariza/j-rich/budinger
    scola/pops/hayes
    amare/andersen/dorsey

id rather have brooks over sessions(just personal love), and much rather have mcgrady over iverson, but if we could get amare to agree to and extension before the trade i think it would be worth it to lock in the future of our pg postion with sessions and our pf/c position with amare.i dont really think iverson and amare are who i want leading my team though and i dont even kno if i like this idea but i would feal like miss cleo if this went down for sure.

i really dont see what the buzz is about he is know where near a polished offensive player but is very athletic so is landry though.i wouldnt bring him in if this means getting rid of landry he's one of my favorite rocket players and i think he can have a career year this year.

sorry to say but this guy brings nothing to our team than what we already have except weak side shot blocking which is pretty impressive but thats it.

lets just try to lure iverson hear and cause kaos around the league so we can have a potent offense like a custome adleman offense.

Are you guys ever gonna make the playoffs?

I mean Jesus, Pops was the only guy worth watching on your squad at the end of last year.

Whatever you were smoking when you watched the Raptor games, pass some over here. Having a couple nice games with some great dunks does not make someone have a 'worth watching' status. I'm assuming you've never watched full Raptor games.....but just highlights.

The Rockets are waiting for Landry's contract to reach the 1 year mark so he can be traded, I believe that is sometime in September. Once that happens we are going to trade for Bosh and sign him to an extension....mark it.

That's pretty funny, let me try...

Now that the Rockets have Pops to fill the all important third injured reserve slot, they can now get down to the business of shaping their roster. Finally!

man i cant believe this anymore. i guess our team must be that bad that we have some australian scrub for our starting Center and then some Back up scrub from the d league.

all those years we kept telling Morey the great to get a backup for yao, but never listened. Now we proubably have the worst 1-2 combo at Center in the nba.
