Why the qualifier? You take every chance you're offered to post about trading Scola. You trot out the same reasons and even make up some, like "he can't hit a contested shot." Fine. It isn't true that he can't make a contested shot, but whatever floats your boat. I can understand the rational behind trading Luis, given the right circumstance. Not your rational, but others. I'd trade him in a New York minute for Bosh or someone of that caliber, and Luis would understand why we did it. I just happen to be a big fan of the guy. Regardless of what you think about him, he's the first 4 we've had to fill the spot in years that wasn't a scrub, or didn't have some glaring hole in his game. I'd kind of like to keep a guy like that. I hope he re-ups with us. I hope Morey figures out how to keep him. Some of us feel that way about Mr. Scola.

I totally agree with you,Yao definitely has his limitations when it comes to fronting,it's hard for any PG to get him the ball.Boozer won't face that problem, but I still feel that Brooks is not a natural passer by any means,Lowry is better than him, however they are downgrades from what he is used to. We also do not know how Boozer will react to being "the man" on the team. I think he will need a big, tall defender at the center spot to make things easier for him. Chuck won't cut it despite his defensive strength if he stays here, nor will Dorsey as you are well aware.

Yoyo, not to be a hater or anything, but you know that Iceland is part of Europe, right? I hope you were kidding, but in case you weren't, I think you were thinking of Antarctica.

Also, I think the Rockets don't actually have a native African on the roster. Pops is from Great Britain. (Someone get Deke on the phone . . .)

Someone else brought up Boozer and I just made a comment when someone mentioned Pops means the end of Landry. I like scola a lot, but if it means getting better players for him, so be it. In another thread, all I did was talk about the difference between guys that can create and hit contested shots at the 4 spot like Brand,Boozer, and those types vs the guys that can't like scola, haslem, and those types. The guys are paid accordingly and if you go by the quality of player, its easy to assume scola is a mle to 6m type of player. Now if you are willing to give a guy like scola a Ariza type contract at 30, cool that's your choice. Do I think he's worth it? Yep on a contending team as a 3/4 th option, but if I can get a 2nd option that is a better player and younger, then I take the latter.

Of course who wouldn't trade scola for bosh, that's the easiest trade in the books, but morey improve the team and maintain cap flexibility? I guess we will see.

It's an allusion to a classic Drexler moment

LOL at you if you actually think he'll average that or close to it in the NBA. What guys do in the summer league and D-league is no where close to what they'll do on the big stage. Hell they might not even see the light.

I fully expect Pops to average about 22 and 10 considering that that was the D-League. NBA competition should not hurt his numbers too much. His blocks might move down to about 2 a game, though...

You do realize that guys in the NBA yet alone the West are skilled big guys??? Tim Duncan gets every call. Amare is going to get calls against him. David West is going to get calls his way. He is basically going up against all star guys. He is not going to get that Im sorry

Hell I doubt he even see's the floor that long for him to put up those type of numbers. Scola/ Landry alone will see tones of mins. Then Dorsey has proven himself so far. Andersen signing. Add Hayes to the mix. Guys are already in front of him on the depth chart. He is going to have to bust his ass in training camp if he wants to see the floor. I'm not sure what the contract is but I wouldn't be surprised if he was traded.

    WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT!?

If a guy is Wilt Chamberlain in the D-League, he can easily be "Bill Russell esque" in the NBA!!! Jeeze, posters these days...How you can't see Pops as an all-star/superstar is just beyond me. Explain yourself! Is your "superstar fouls calls" the only reason you have, for Pops "not" being a star???
