If you're bringing in Pops freaking Mensah-Bonsu for the purpose of selling tickets, you're really underestimating the intelligence of your fan base (if that's even possible considering most sports fans.)

I like Luis Scola as much as the next guy, but it is starting to get pretty ridiculous just how much this board overrates him.

A deal very well could be close (just by sheer necessity of trimming down the roster), but I don't see why most here are jumping to the conclusion that Landry is a goner. This was a major rotation player on two 50 win teams, and the guy has a relatively polished offensive repertoire. He's not going to get traded simply because we finally brought Malick Badiane over under a different name. Landry very well could be dealt, but this signing doesn't necessarily elude to anything forthcoming.

 

I wonder who is the unlucky guy out the door... Hmmm maybe its James White considering his contract his not guarantee. He could just be waived instead of Morey trading away key guys that are proven to contribute. I'm not sure who else is on the Rockets with a non guaranteed contract but Flight is sure likely to get cut unless he has a breath taking training camp.

Agreed, it is a foregone conclusion that White is gone. Aside from athleticism, he hasn't shown anything to warrant a spot on an NBA roster.

I think it's a foregone conclusion that White will not make the team with the signing of both JT ands CBud and his lackluster performance in summer league. Still, there needs to be more room created on the roster for Pops and possibly Iverson.

I think the major reason people believe a trade would involve Landry is because of the trade restriction he has. If Scola(or anyone else on the roster) was being dealt, a move could have been done a long time ago.
