So the Pops is official? Thats good! More size added. I actually really like this guy. Now if we can somehow get Iverson i believe we can be playoff team, that can make some noise if everyone plays there role. Any update on Iverson?

Doesn't help that Iverson plays matador defense, and Brooks struggles mightily on defense. You cant help on everybody. Lowry would also struggle guarding twos. As much as I love Chuck Hayes; Power fowards have no problem shooting over him, and because of his height he's not exactly a presence that prevents dribble penetration. He'll get the occasional charge, but LA owned the paint againest us because we didn't have a legitimate big man

Your second statement speaks towards the ineptitude of Ariza's offensive game not a statement towards team defense. Ariza still averaged ten points againest us btw, and Odom was key to their success.

This is what I'm talking about. That's why I suggested shane for raja bell and alexis ajinca. Bell does the same things shane does except he's better offensively and plays well in the drive and kick game and alexis gives the rockets another young big to try to develop. Bell expires at the end of the season and AA is on a rookie deal. Bell is also a great lockerrom guy and good guy in general. At the least, he starts until tracy comes back even if my info is Tracy will be there week 1 of the season.

    the way i see it:

AI's frame is similar to Brooks'...they are both scoring points...who better to mentor Brooks in the game of basketball (notice i said game, not mentor him in practice habits) than AI?? AI has definitely been humbled some lately. I can definitely see him helping Brooks develop his game even further.

AI still has at least another 2 more good years in him, could be a reason for tmac to stay here, assuming he comes back healthy and we want him back.

AI would sell a lot of tickets and merchandise, could possibly help us sneak into the playoffs and keep the fans backing the team for what is suppose to be an off year. If we sign him for one year, that's low risk, he's gone this offseason, and even at two years, that makes him an expiring deal next season and could come in handy in a trade.

No, but it's pretty obvious the so called "Ric Bucher" quote was made up. ESPN would have posted something on there site by now.

I wouldn't mind seeing AI in red for a season or two as long as we dont break the bank and hamstring our future. We saw Lowry/Brooks guard combo alot during at the end of the season and during the playoffs and it proved to be effective. So I wouldnt mind seeing Brooks/AI combo. Plus Brooks can structure his game to be like AI's.

ESPN is reporting that AI's twitter account says he's really close to a deal....the fact that espn hasn't reported a AI to houston rumor may not mean much because they don't want to get burned incase AI changes his mind and if they got a man getting the inside info, they'll be the first to reported anyway if it becomes official...so for now they are just saying a deal is close with some team...

This is what he supposedly twittered. Don't see Houston mentioned. Sounds like a move Charlotte might do, they have his old coach LB and they sure could use a guy to sell tickets.

"If you think that I am just going away-Think again! I am getting ready for the NBA season. Waiting for the call. Charlotte, Miami, NY."

I am going to guess that it is Miami.

Knicks just recently said they don't want him, Bobcats have Felton, DJ, and Raja........Miami would ensure him playing time, and Pat Riley has been saying great things about him all summer...

Miami has been pretty quiet this off-season. I'd guess MIA too.
