Luis Scola is the back bone of this team! He is the kind of player that will take this team to the new hype!

Wow, the older child in the 2nd picture looks so much like Luis! Can we draft him under a father/son rule? If he has half as much hustle as his dad it will three times as much as most NBA players.

I went to the game. Scola played really good. Showed some great moves and was moving up and down the court with ease. They lost because the Argentinian team didn't have much else to help him.

He better get use to that role. The Rockets will definitely depend on him the most in the low post. He should try to slow down and reserve his strength for a much grueling NBA season.

    Canada 45 : 37 Argentina, half time

Scola 7pts, 4rbs; he didn't play in most of the 2nd quarter.

ARG/CAN – Canadians send Argentina crashing to another defeat
    8/20/2009

SAN JUAN (FIBA Americas Championship) - Argentina coach Sergio Hernández never places too much importance on the national side's warm-up games for major tournaments.

Instead, he uses the friendly games to find an edge that will give the South American giants their best chance of winning games once the championships get underway.

With that in mind, Argentina suffered a second straight defeat at the II Marchand Continental Championship Cup in San Juan on Wednesday when falling to Canada, 86-72.

Canada point guard Jermaine Anderson and big man Levon Kendall each poured in 14 points for Leo Rautins' team.

Argentina got 13 points from Diego Garcia and 12 from Luis Scola.

The Canadians will take on Brazil on Thursday while Argentina will face Puerto Rico on the last day of the Marchand Cup.

The FIBA Americas Championship tips off on August 26 in San Juan.

Canada will be in Group A with Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands, Mexico and Uruguay.

Argentina will be in Group B with Brazil, the Dominican Republic, Panama and Venezuela.
