Why do guys keep bring back this thread. I swear some guys can't accept the fact the man is out for the season. Let him rest and let his foot heal 100% instead of rushing back. I think some guys who are YOF are the same ones that root for Steve Francis to come back when they know for a fact the guy was done.

Because we actually care about Yao, you know the player who is actually good, who tries, who has heart and balls.

And because you care so much, that is why you want him to come back before he has a full year to heal?

Can the mods please lock this ridiculous thread, otherwise it's going to hover at the top of the front page the rest of the Summer.

Stop trying to hijack a perfectly good thread. Yao's no steve francis. He's the most important player on our roster. Of course people want to know how his rehab is going and when he's going to come back.

my point exaclty when i started this thread...never underestimate Hard work and the will of Yao ming....I always believed he had a chance to return this season and seeing this article makes me believe it even more...I expect him to be back by Feb March also...I just think the rockets are not putting it much out there because they made the NBA believe he would be out for the season for the Ariza exception....
You could tell Morey never difintely said Yao is done for the season..just that they expect him ready for next years training camp...
Good luck on your rehab Yao..see you for the playoff run!!

did you read the article about Yao already rehabbing and he is ahead of schedule...I think you and other Yao haters need to realize there is a chance he will be back this season...I believe in the guy and so do alot people on this board...we want to hear updates on him and see how he is doing..if he is ready, he will play much to your dismay...accept it...you will still be saying the same thing when Yao takes th ecourt in March!!!

He had major foot surgery, there is no reason for him to rush it.

There is indeed no reason to rush things. Take things as it comes so if He can get well way ahead of schedule and given the go signal to play plus the team is in the right position for a playoff berth then He should just make a run for it. I believe in not wasting a single year as players are growing older and chances in succeeding diminishes as years pass by.

thats a good point...if a player is healthy, why waste it...if he is cleared and we are in the playoff hunt, then he should play like im sure he is hoping to...Yao is not as young as people may believe and if healthy he probably only has 2 or 3 years left in his prime before his game starts to decline...
it gives us hope and i'm sure his teammates that there is still a chance he could help them in the playoffs if they can get a spot....

Watching Yao in the playoffs against the Lakers and the way he refused to stay out of the game when he was kneed by Kobe made me proud of the big fella. He is very tough and determined, this is why I still believe that Yao will be back IF the team is indeed in the playoffs.

I don't know whats the point of Yao rushing to get back this season. He will not be effective when he comes back especially when the playoff is around the corner. He will need to play a lot of games just to maybe regain his old self but after this injury, Yao will no longer be the focal point but rather the role player.

Yao should just rest up and get healthy and come back 10-11 season. I just don't see Yao as our franchise player no more....

Morey, it is time to find our new franchise player because Yao is only getting more fragile, weaker, slower, and less effective. Compare him to other franchise players like D.Howard, Lebron, Kobe (he is getting old but man he is still great), Dwade, Kevin Durant, Danny Granger, Chris Bosh, Al Jefferson, etc, it tells me we need a new young good player that have the potential to be great.

if the doctor clears yao to play, what do you expect yao to do? he's going to play. so if yao is cleared to play sometime next season, he should suit up and play. yao only has a window of 2-3 years left anyways.

next season could have many different scenarios. the most optimistic thing is tracy coming back in game 1, help this team stay extremely competitive until march and hope for yao to return (ala 06-07), with this time going into the playoffs with a much stronger supporting cast.

so it's not really about if yao could return in 6 months. it's about could yao be cleared to play in 6 months?

    from Richard Justice's twitter

[rQUOTEr]Yao arrives at Toyota Cent at 8:30 most days. He shoots hundreds of balls from a chair. Wouldn't it be great if every player worked so hard?

Good to hear that He is working already on some of his basketball skills. He might not be using his feet yet but the other aspects of his game, He is polishing. Good way to spend his time while going under rehabilitation.

That's cool. However, I don't understand how that's going to help him though, unless he is going to bring a chair to the free throw line.

He is still in a cast. If he's playing on a cast, it's not the doctor's advice.

Morey has confirmed it's highly unlikely that Yao comes back midseason with his latest move.

He has just made a verbal agreement for the team's 5th center.

    1) Yao
    2) Hayes
    3) Dorsey
    4) Andersen
    5) Pops

He should now concentrate on improving the back court. The team needs another offensive option. The center position was/is a concern but it looks like its going to be center by committee.
