Last years draft had some solid players in unexpected places. For some reason i think this years draft has decent talent 1-10, no obvious choices, but guys like Ming, Williams, Wilcox, Tsika, Wagner, Hilario all have very good potential, and of course guys like Stoudamre and Woods etc....

It seems like the draft is more solid this year and most teams in the top 15 will get a solid player who should be able to contribute soon.

    What do you guys think?

i believe that this draft to is very good. It is a very deep draft with solid prospects. It may not be deep in stars but its very solid in talent.

    You aren't alone.

<a href="http://www.sportingnews.com/voices/sean_deveney/20020619.html">Deep Impact: NBA teams prepare for unusually strong draft class</a>

Some suggest that the talent in this draft may extend all the way into the second round going all the way to picks in the mid to late 40's! That's crazy.

And the sweet part is that we have 3 picks within that Top 40 period! Get us Ming, Nachbar, and a gem in the 2nd round and look out!

it's a LOT better than last year's draft. i had more '?'s about the prospects than any feeling about sure players.

i think the last deep draft has to be 99:

    99 draft

IMO, 14 out of 29 players are above average to franchise-caliber players right now.

When one team gets stronger, so do others.

Watch out for many others who are already established well above Houston' and what there trying to build.

Maybe it will be a, <B>"Ming Dynasty".</b> But maybe we'll see a "wagner Dynasty" in Memphis.

    ;)
