Hey guys. First Post. I liked the randomness of this thread, so I decided to drop my two cents.

This trade could have some validity to it. The Hawks have been making moves at the Center position lately. They re-signed Zaza Pachulia, signed Joe Smith to a one year deal and HoopsHype reported they were taking a look at Peter John Ramos (which doesn't mean much, but for arguments sake). The re-signing of Bibby, Marvin Williams, the trade for Jamal Crawford and the amount they offer Joe Johnson in a contract extension could push them to trade Al Horford to keep them from going over the luxury tax.

BUT... Al Horford is still under a modest contract for a couple of years and we seem to also have stacked up at the Center position.

This would be a great trade. We'd become incredibly young and would have a young solid center Yao could mentor until he retires.

Just not sure what we'd give up. The OP stated that the trade would make it difficult for Morey to jump into future trades? If I understood him correctly, of course. Honestly, I don't see how this would work in Atlanta's favor. We have nothing to offer them, but if it happens... Awesome.

I want to believe this...but then, the only way I could see it happen would be if Battier was involved and I don't want that to happen, so I am against it ;).

Zero, by your reasons. The Hawks are nowhere near the tax.

A younger miror image (stat wise) of Luis Scola, eh I guess, but Id rather try to get stoudamire, think about it the Suns have been building their front court, their relationship is semi sweet. They have Channing Frye,Taylir Griffin, Robin Lopez, and we could offer battier and Hayes, they need a sf after barnes their starter darted for Orlando and richardsons a pure sg, and hill is older than fire

He didn't get his facts right, however Albert G looks like a good poster. He's got a bright future at CF. Much Like Horford does at Atlanta.

    Hawks won't let him go.

    WHEN IS THIS GETTING LOCKED?

Rockets have the same roster now that they did a few weeks ago. So wouldn't they have landed Horford during the Anderson talks? Or are you telling me Joe Smith is the grease that got this thing done. I don't think so.

It would not match the pure insanity that is this thread. Seventy posts and still going strong despite no source, terrible grammar, and an infrequent poster.

Not that the title itself was believable, but talk about a buzzkill upon reading that opening post. I haven't seen that much title coherency : post legitimacy dissonance since "CARL LANDRY SHOT!!!!!" actually turned out to be about Carl Landry getting shot rather than about his jumper.

This thread is so awesome that half the people think AI is coming and the other half thinks Big AL is coming. Does that mean its twice as likely one of deals gets done?

Trading Al Horford for the sole purpose of avoiding the luxury tax really makes about as much sense as shattering your own windshield to ward off a potential robbery.
