His Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is over rated? Really? Please tell me why you think this.

It took him 3 yrs to get a black belt when the average time is closer to 10. 1st american born black belt world champion.

There are far more better Jiu Jitsu guys than BJ but his credentials speak for itself. Didnt he earn his Black Belt in 3 years? He was also the first non-Brazilian to win at the Worlds.
He comes off looking like a prick on tv but Im gonna say that his Jiu-Jitsu skills are freakishly amazing. His Jiu Jitsu skills are up there if not the best for his size.

To get your BJJ black belt in 3 years is amazing....especially if you know anything about BJJ. Then to win at the World Jiu Jitsu Championships right after that, submitting other Black Belts that trained longer.

I think his BJJ is made even better by the fact he's so damn flexible. He's like a freakin' rubber band when he goes for locks and submissions (or tries to escape them). The fact he's Gracie-trained probably doesn't hurt, either.

Am I the only one that read the title as 'BJ PENIS JIU JITSU'?

I thought this was some offshoot of 'cheese or BJ'. Shows where my mind is today. Carry on...

There's jiu-jitsu and then there's jiu-jitsu in mma. There may be better sole jiu jitsu practitioners out there but when it comes to mma jiu jitsu application he is one of the best if not the best, definitely the best in his division.

    Overrated?

    Can the best be overrated?

    Not sure.

A world championship in BJJ speaks for itself. There may be some who are better technically but he has proven that at one point in time, he was the best in the world at his weight class. As the saying goes, "the mat doesn't lie". That is why I know I suck crap at BJJ. I get reminded every time I get submitted by someone 40 pounds lighter than me.
