We have the first storm of the season according to Tim Heller's tweet. It's official: TD#2 will be upgraded to Tropical Storm Ana with the 4 PM update.
Eh, never mind. It's still not a TS. Another system is now on the radar, Invest 90 - the one we were talking about yesterday. Waiting for Jeff Masters' updated blog...
by all accounts TD2 is in trouble, too much dry air getting sucked into it's core. that is probably good news for invest 90, TD2 clears the way for it to strengthen. but still a LONG way from being something to worry about. Kam, you wanna see a violent thread, go read the comments on Master's blog...people come on there wishcasting about every little TD\invest and the regulars get EXTREMELY pissy about it.
I'm in Orlando till Thursday. I came to see the first named storm of the season, Anna. Unfreakinbelievable. Tried to talk the sig other out of buying the 5 day Disney package. looking at rain all weekend.
Yeah I noticed that the other day. The storm is 5 miles off the coast of Africa and people on the comments are already guessing it to be a cat 3 and hit somewhere in the US. It was hilarious to see some of the predictions over there.
well well, TD2/Ana showing why you cant accurately predict this far out. last two days, it was near death...today....named TS. also, there is a cloud mass near the keys right now....not much being said about it at this point, but everything in that area is worth watching. latest blog update from Dr Masters. http://www.wunderground.com/blog/JeffMasters/comment.html?entrynum=1280
its official, two to watch so far. way too early to say with any certainty where these end up, just a heads up so you know that the possibility exists.
That mass off Florida is off immediate concern for us here. It's pretty much in the same area that Alicia was when that got its start. It could be nothing and not develop though. Bears watching closely at least. Ana and Bill are still pretty far out so we have plenty of time to see what happens with those. Florida should be very concerned though as you can see from the models.
Whats sucks is that im leaving from Dominica to go back to Houston on Thursday morning, the exact time Bill is supposed to be between Dominica and San Juan, looks like ill be stranded here for a few days of my break
ehh bears watching....sure thing is, at this time, the conditions arent very good for intensification....it has a far better chance of just being a rain-maker for the west Florida coast.
It looks like it may be forming an eye, but it is still relatively disorganized (not much on the east side of the storm) and I can not tell from the radar loop whether it has actual rotation.
