They need both defense and offense. We hardly have any of the latter without Yao and McGrady. The proof of which will be made evident during the regular season.

If chuck could at least hit a mid-range jumpshot every once in a while his minutes would go way up.

People just don't know who Hayes is. They don't even care. They think he is a normal scrub in this game.

Nobody remembers that game when he took KG back to school. Unfortunately, everyone is still laughing after watching his free throws shooting (for example in Denver).

Even if we won the ship I doubt people would give him credit.

Well, I doubt adding any mid-level scorer type (i.e. Von Wafer, Ramon Sessions, Nate Robinson, or someone you can get at or below MLE) will help that much.

one of the greatest things about Chuck in my eyes is that he most likely doesnt really give a crap if media and/or fans dont give him credit....as long as his teammates and coaches do.

He works his ass off every possession...if he had 3 more inches he would be the most dominant post defender in the league.

wow rosen finally had an article that made some kind of sense. dead on about LBJ and DH12. dead on about KB24 and CP3. ya dont understand about the TD and Yao if the refs let them play real post defense those two are good straight up defenders on the block. How Yao plays Shaq and DH one on one in the post no one in the league is better. as for Chuck if he was taller he be like KG.

He already is the most dominant post defender in the league.

On a side note, who specifically votes for All Nba defense? They say the AP, but who comprises the AP? I ask this because the All NBA defense awards are a complete joke. I don't understand how the voters purely vote based on numbers. It's a shame to all the hardworking defenders who don't get the numbers, most of whom can be found on Rosen's list. I find it pretty unfathomable how Shane has never made a 1st team All Nba defense, which is a testament to the voters' incompetence. Why employ voters who don't even watch the game?

Close, but not quite. Kevin Garnett is hands-down the best post defender (and defensive player, in general) in the NBA today. But after him, there's no other player clearly better than Chuck. Possibly Tim Duncan. Possibly.

I like the term 'pick pocket defender' in case of Trevor. Clearly he isn't a 1 on 1 bruiser RonRon was but I think he will get better at positioning himself at the perimeter.

LOL These 'nicknames'.. they're getting out of control.

    HO34? CD22? VM11? I don't think so.

I don't deny that. I'm against throwing the whole MLE at Wafer,Nate or anyone else.

No. In fact, I wouldn't call you crazy if you called him the best post defender in the league.

You guys are overrating Chuck. Sure he's a very good man defender, but help defense is more important for big men, and his height and athleticism greatly hinder him there.

aaaaah....dont know how to counter this. But I do know when Yao steps out, inside scoring is increased. When you talk about off picknrolls, your talking about guarding the 1 or 2 man???? I dont understand that part, Yao can guard just about any other center and shut them down at the same time. Outside shooter gives him the hardest time and thats more of a coach decision of Yao staying inside. But any big man, they wont be scoring inside the paint 1on1.

Pick and rolls and screens wont normally have a big man coming off them with the ball. I dont know if I am understanding that part right....??? If thats the case your trying to pull what other big man gets around those screens to guard the roller??
