I wouldn't do this trade because I believe Francis will one day be a Gary Payton clone with more hops and energy. Another reason I would not do this deal is because I believe Cuttino Mobley has loads of potential and could someday match Kobe's numbers and importance to his team. What are your thoughts? ------------------
Why trade our Franchise player for Kobe Bryant? He would probably play one season and demand a trade a'la Snottie Quitten ------------------ Dont do today what you can put of until tomorrow
Yep, In a situation of equal skill always take the taller player. Bryant is taller, better and younger. DaDakota ------------------
Hey, look. A new topic that's never been discussed before. (and if you didn't catch my response the first 43 times the question's been asked, "yes I would") ------------------ ?
Personally, I'd never give up Francis for Kobe. The main reason is that even though kobe is younger and taller, Francis can make the players around him better. Kobe simply cannot do this. Francis is the better and there is no doubt bout it ------------------
Kobe can score as well as Francis, plays far better defense, can defend and play at least 3 positions on the court, and is just as electrifying as Francis. Kobe scored more, had a better FG%, better FT%, more rebounds, had 5 assists per game, blocked more shots, had FAR fewer turnovers while playing more minutes (yes, he's not a PG, so he doesn't handle the ball as much, but he does get a ton of touches). Francis shot better from the 3pt line, had an edge in assists. They were about dead even in steals. My point : it's not as clear-cut as some of you may think. I'd still make the trade. ------------------ ?
