1. Who are some of the players who slipped off the radar on draft day that later emerged (slowly) or exploded on to the scene as superstars? 2. Who are some of the greatest pick-ups from various leagues around the world ? 3. Who will be the superstar from this draft- and who will be the biggest bust? I''ll just stick with recent Rockets for mine: 1. S. Cassell, C. Mobley 2. Mario Elie Superstar/Bust 3. Dajuan Wagner, M. Dunleavy
1. Paul Pierce 2. Mario Elie, Moochie Norris, Ben Wallace(Undrafted right?) 3. Jason Williams, I can't actually pick a bust until I know the order in which they are drafted.
I'll take Michael Finley. Pickups around the world? Darrell Armstrong, Anthony Mason, Chucky Atkins, Ben Wallace, Bo Outlaw....to name a few.
Randy Smith, Buffalo Braves-- drafted in the 7th or 9th round back in the seventies. Was a prolific scorer and even made several all-star teams, I think.
Latrell at the early twenties was a steal. Charles Oakley and Dennis Rodman were 2nd rounders who worked hard and made their name in the NBA. Oak sponsored Ben Wallace and took him in his wings before he set foot in the NBA. Guess hard work gets you somewhere after all...
For one of the top two or three (if not the top) PF ever, Karl Malone at 13 has got to be great value.
Karl Malone with the 13th pick. He had curls back then and cried on t.v. since he was just happy to be picked in the first round.
Craig Ehlo-?5th round pick Jim Peterson-3rd round pick Mark Price-2nd round pick Joe Dumars-18th pick in 1st round (one before Rockets pick of Steve Harris)
Not much of a sleeper but Portland missed Jordan, Barkley, Stockton, OT, and Willis for Sam Bowie- ...hindsight 20/20
