Now you know I couldn't just do the Kobe thing without testing the waters on Carter did you? This is a trade I would have to think long and hard about. Vince is an awesome specimen, but so is Francis. I can honestly say I would be happy with either player in a Rockets uniform so I can't say whether or not I would do this deal. Star point guard's are harder to find than star guards or forwards. Francis can do so many things- I really think he is a special player. Also, Carter is very laid back on defense. Because of Francis' potential, I would definitely prefer him. However, I can't say the same as for Kobe. Not only am I one of the few people that believes Kobe is better than Vince, I believe he is MUCH better. He is an all around player. He can shoot the ball much better than Vince, he is quicker, he has more moves off the dribble, and also is an outstanding defender. If Kobe played for anyone else in the league, I think he'd lead the league in scoring. He also has the burning desire to win and improve. I'm sorry if I sound like Bob Costas when he sucks up to Kobe- but I really believe that some of what he says is true. Kobe is one of those rare players that only comes around so often. Believe it or not, I have been impressed with Steve's defense at times. When he gives 100%, he is an excellent defender. When Carter gives a 100%, I still don't think he is that good of a defender. Defensively to me he just isn't the player Kobe is, and I also think Francis has more potential to grow out of defensive problems than Vince. ------------------
