Office seasons 1-3 How I Met Your Mother seasons 1-2 Curb 2,3,4 Sunny in Philadelphia 1,2 Flight of the Conchords season 1 True Blood episodes where Paquin gets naked Assuming you've watched all episodes of Arrested Development enough times to reference, for starters, all their jokes on incest and chickens.
Listen up, I'm about to f&#% you up with some truth about The Wire. If there's one thing I hate, it's losing. If there's two things I hate, it's losing and getting cancer. If there's three things I hate, it's losing, getting cancer, and peeps who aren't down with The Wire.
The amount of money I’ll be makin would hurt your parents feelings. Remember the class where I taught you all how to make it rain? That’s what I’ll be doin every night, dollar…dollar…bills y’all. I'm just a normal guy with exceptional hair.
The office. Love that show. How I met your mother is not bad, but its a couple of notches below The office.
Watch The Office U.S. Seasons 1-4 (don't listen to those who said season 4 is crap- it's got a few misses but it's still great). Then, if you can, watch The Office U.K. both 1 and 2 and, of course, the Christmas special. You'll be treated to one of the best songs you'll ever hear in your life: Free Love Freeway: Pretty girl on the hood of a Cadillac, yeah.... She's broken down on freeway nine. I take a look and her engine's started, I leave her purring and I roll on by....bye bye Free love on the free love freeway, The love is free and the freeway's long... I got some hot love on the hot-love freeway I ain't going home cos' my baby's gone A little while later, see a senorita, She's caught a flat trying to make it home, She says "Por favor, can you pump me up?" I say "Muchos gracias, adios. Bye Bye." Free love on the freelove freeway, The love is free and the freeway's long I got some hot love on the hotlove highway, Ain't going home cause my baby's gone. Little while later I see a cowboy crying, "Hey buddy, what can I do?" He says "I lived a good life, had about a thousand women." I said "Why the tears?", he says "cause none of them was you." Free love on the free love freeway, where the love is free and the freeway is long... I got some hot love on the hot-love freeway I ain't going home cos' my baby's gone And, of course, we can't forget the immortal Dirty Bertie:
I didn't notice Big Love or Dexter on here, so I'll just throw those in. Also, Nurse Jackie and Penn & Teller's Bullsh!t. And House, Bones and Better off Ted.
Ditto Curb or the Office (in that order of preference). I also agree w/ Arrested or It's Always Sunny if you haven't seen them.
True Blood is my favorite so far. Waiting for Dexter and Supernatural next seasons. I like Psych and The Big Bang. Trying out Hung (before True Blood I think it is)
generally during the summer reruns i watch seasons of shows i have never seen so far this summer i watched: Chuck (my god the blonde is such a hottie!) and just started season 2 of Burn Notice it was a coincidence I ended up watching 2 shows based on espionage but both are really good and I would recommend them.
You're in luck, because the past 10-15 years have been a golden age for great TV shows. My rule of thumb is to not start a series unless it's been on the air for a few years with good ratings. That decreases the risk of it being canceled with some unresolved cliffhanger, and it gives you more show to watch. Out of your list, I'd say True Blood (kind of breaking my multi-season rule there, but it's good). You don't need to marathon Sitcoms IMO. The new Battlestar Galactica is a good mix of Drama, Action and Sci-Fi. On the con side, I think that 24's flaws really show up when you marathon it and it gets boring. I made it through four seasons then shelved it. Dexter is pretty good from what I've seen. Of course, you can't go wrong with The Sopranos if you haven't seen it. If you're feeling really ambitious, try out Stargate SG1. 10 seasons and over 200 episodes- my wife and I just finished the entire box set. We watched 5-10 episodes a week for seven months. It's one of the better long-running series ever.
Just finished the last season of the Wire. Sad there's no more, but what a great show. Season 1 was awesome, so I'd recommend it. i think there's only around 13 shows in the season, so you might be able to get through a couple of seasons. I checked out all 5 seasons form the public library, so maybe your library has them available.
The Wire is one of the best shows ever. Freaking brilliant as well as thought-provoking. Outside of the basic cops and drug dealers stuff, you get some great insight into how local politics, dockworkers unions, modern newspapers, and post-No Kid Left Behind schools are run. Also it has one of the coolest modern day Robin Hoods ever made in Omar Little.
