The same, sensationalized garbage that had already been implied to us through Eric Zhang, and can be resolved through one simple fax. Wake me in two days when Yao Ming is a Houston Rocket.
I was thinking more one third-man, one third-Bear, and one third-AMAZING!. TAKE THAT VINCE CARTER! HA!
Don't pay the story any mind. Wang himself said CBA officials were not upset with him staying in America. He stayed in America only to practice against premiere competition only to improve his game once he rejoins the Chinese National team this summer. Star Telegram
It is meant as more of a statement than an arguement. I did not mean to imply that you were saying that NY had more to offer. Logic suggests that JWill would have more suitors than Ming, although after what Doc said maybe more would want Ming than JWill.
Old Man Rock,if they got the scoop right does that mean that the CBA is asking for written assurances from the NBA that Ming would be available for all national obligations? Clutch also wrote that the Xinhua News Agency is mentioning the same thing. The 48hr deadline has also passed and I feel that it's looking very difficult to get Ming on the Rockets. I hope that there will be an official announcement from the Rockets soon.
Jeff: "Yeah, I'll be the first [to 10,000 posts]. Only 30+ to go. " Jeff, I hope you and Clutch have tested the BBS to make sure it's 10K compliant! :-> windandsea: "the step of Ming to NBA is unstoptable. Otherwise, CBA and Sharks will lose much more than now. Fans have appealed to boycott watching the games of Sharks and CBA [...] All the Chinese media have begun to celebrate Ming's being #1 pick." I would agree that the Chinese have a lot more to lose than the Rockets. They want Ming in the NBA and to be the #1 choice. All they have to do is let him, and it will happen. All the rest is just posturing. Most of their so-called "demands" were for things the Rockets have no legal authority to give, and turned out not to be demands at all. They know the Rockets have no objection to Yao plaing internationally in the summers, so why would it be an issue with them? I get the impression that this is someone in the Shanghai Sharks organization making noise because no one is paying attention to him. The CBA and the TV station that owns the Sharks call the shots here, and we've never heard any complaints from them. The Sharks are probably just hoping for a bigger slice of the compensation pie. percicles: "If anything the Post resembles British Tabloid Newspapers. Perhaps b/c the paper is run by brits. I hate the English." Careful, dude ... odds are you're half Brit yourself! And don't forget, the Financial Times, the London Times, The Independent, etc., are all run by Brits and they're among the world's best papers. Boston has the Herald, which has tabloid-like features and screaming headlines, but also first rate investigative journalism and a solid sports section. Don't judge a paper by it's cover, or it's owner ... or it's third page. :-> RocksMillenium: "bless Clutch, it's a miracle he's able run this site at all hours of the night, work, raise a kid and spend time with his family. My theory is that he's a man-zombie, half-man, half-zombie. What do you guys think?" I think there's probably at least 3-4 of him: one in Houston, one in Utah, one in Boston, maybe one in Shanghai.... [insert smiley of your choice here]
