oh boy here it goes. im getting old. nothing i can to stop it anymore. nothing RIP sir you are a piece of my childhood
that movie is almost 20 years old. lets see how jermiah looks in 2029 and see if he looks as dashing and handsome as he does now.
I'm talking about the scary weight loss. She was hot up until a few years ago when she did Dark Water and The Hulk. I thought she was the hottest thing on the planet until then. I'd say that I'm as dashing as I was 20 years ago, easily.
He captured and imprinted the 80's generation like no other on film.. He understood what the era meant and the birth of the brat pack exploded onto the screen...
I think the world would have been better off if none of those movies were ever made. Just kidding. Those are all mostly quality films for what they represent and the time they were made. Some of them are timeless classics. I didn't realize one person was so instrumental in all those movies. Rest in peace.
Sad...I guess they were showing his very old picture back in the 80s with this news. I was thinking this guy was rather slim and looked healthy. Then, I caught another picture of him which is more recent and he looked like he let himself go quite a bit. I was originally thinking he looked pretty good from the one picture so for him to have a heart attack? But, as we all know even skinny people can have heart attacks...meaning weight alone is not the only factor. I seem to recall Martin Sheen had a heart attack filming "Apocalypse Now" and he was skinny. I guess it can just happen to anybody at any time...brought on by exercise, stress, or whatever. It sucks but that's the reality. Just gotta go on one day at a time.
Pretty good Hughes montage: <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/ZOkNIUw0c2s&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/ZOkNIUw0c2s&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
Wow, that was really well done. I actually got a little chill during parts of it. Ferris Bueller, Sixteen Candles, and Weird Science are 3 of the greatest movies ever made IMO. I can literally recite the dialog from start to finish for Sixteen Candles and most of Weird Science. My friends and I still quote from the bar scene in WS all the time. "She did what??" "The family jewels???" "Worst pain there is....." LOL. I've always thought Breakfast Club was good, but a little overrated. Pretty in Pink was good, but a lot of it was just over the top. Some Kind of Wonderful seem too forced. And I'll tell you what...to this day, I still get teared up watching the end of Planes, Trains and Automobiles. When Martin takes Candy home to see his family...and hugs his wife...and they show Candy clinching his hat in his hand a little harder? Man! I still get a lump in my throat watching that scene. Classic John Hughes. RIP. EDIT: It still works. Watch this and tell me you don't at least get a little watery eyed... <object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/pXOYkwseLyk&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/pXOYkwseLyk&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>
Question: If there never was a John Hughes what would be the defining movies of growing up in the 80's? The only other good teen movies I can really think of are Say Anything, Risky Business, and Fast Times at Ridgemont High.
