I think Adelman may try a couple different rotations during training camp to see who can do what and play each position, and then go with what he thinks will help win games.

Very good point. With no low post threat, they would have to create their own shots. Brooks could do the drive and dish but that would/could be defended easily.

i think it all depends on how much offense Ariza really has....seems like Adelman saw something in him during the LA series that pushed Morey to go after him hard....obviously Ariza showed during games he's a strong defender, 3 point shooter, and can slash/finish on the break...but i think Adelman saw something extra, possibly in their practice or shootarounds, that impressed him further...i think he saw Ariza had more offensive talent than he's shown.....not saying he's going to be tmac or ray allen, but just that he can probably be more on the court with shane than be his twin.

well since were gonna be running a motion offense this year i think ariza is gonna surprise us this year.. morey picked him up for a reason he was in kobe's shadow and didn't have 2 put up big numbers or handle the ball but one thing is certain we will find out... brooks is the only one who can create for himself ...now he has to become a playmaker, so hopefully he can develop into a good distributor and get others involved... as for ariza your gonna see him taking a lot of cuts and using his athletic abilities to score... morey and adelman know what there doing... last year artest would handle the ball at take bad shots instead of letting brooks run the offense... dont get me wrong artest had some good games but he could easily take us out of games as well, now its gonna be about team ball and cuts and good passes... now brooks gets a shot to run the team for a whole year and help the team win and when mcgrady returns its only gonna get better.. remember when t-mac would drive and dish to a open rafer then BRICK... now he's gonna dish to brooks for a SWISH!! and battier for the corner 3 or ariza... heck even hayes gets open layups just wait and see a lot of ppl are counting the rockets out... i for one am excited because we have nothing to lose and adelman is a great coach.. stay in tune clutchfans i cant wait for the season to start lets hope all goes well and jt and budinger if he signs have a great rookie season along with andersen and dorsey finally gets some minutes.... look for brooks to have a breakout year i say 16-18 ppg and 4 assist wouldn't hurt oh and hopefully lowry develops a jumpshot... im excited to see the second unit lowry, taylor, budinger, landry, and dorsey..... GO ROCKETS!! :)

Will He be good enough to even take the role of taking charge when the game is on the line? The team missed this type of player when Tmac went down. I remember Morey saying that the 4th quarter was a problem and there were no " take charge guy" for the team. Will Ariza be that?

It's obvious we have a severe lack of talent there, but some people are in denial.

I remember adelman's king also do not have a dynamic 2 who can shoot/score/slash.

Ron is not necessary a better scorer than Ariza, just because Ron got more chance to shoot the ball. Nearly twice than Ariza.(1037 vs 596 in 2009). Also Ron shoots 3 points better.

I would expect Artest's PPG will drop a lot and Ariza's will go up.

I would more worry about if Ariza can stop LeBron type of player as Ron did. They are 40 lbs difference.

I would say Battier/Ariza are better offense duo ( inside/outside). But they are not as good as Battier/Artest duo on defense.

Artest was not a natural SG and he played the position so why couldn't Ariza. I think the more important question is whether Ariza can play without Kobe, Pau and Odom.

If somehow Wafer did decide to stay with the Rockets like he keeps saying he wants to, could our starting line-up be Anderson, Scola, Brooks, Ariza & Wafer, then have Shane come off the bench? It would be helpful to the bench to have a good defender besides Hayes.

Stop getting your panties in a twist. These are the Rockets we're talking about. No matter who's out on the court you can be assured we will play good defense and role players will maximize their abilities on offense by playing within the system. Now we have no more stars to coddle, the sky's the limit.

offensively, they'll struggle and that will put a lot more pressure on brooks to create and scola to dominate down low. just hope tracy will be back soon, and wafer resigned (or one the picks step up).

They could definitely put Ariza at the 2, but it probably wouldn't produce too well offensively. We will probably have the chance to see it early on in the year, so we will find out then if it is more productive than other possibilities.

Granting He would sign, It would be best for Wafer to come in with the 2nd unit. The bench needs to produce while the starters are resting. He and Landry also provide that energy that is needed when the offense get stagnant.

That's right but they had a SF who was a sharpshooter and could score, they had a prime Webber in the paint, and you can't forget Bibby. We don't have that type of roster assembled right now.

Top thread. I believe it can work. AB just really needs to be on his game.

I would think it's vice versa.

I could actually see Taylor starting and averaging 15-25 mpg until Mcgrady is ready to return. Battier as 6th man, with him and Ariza both averaging 35-40 mpg.

Remember, it's not so much who starts, but who finishes.

    ;)
