There are steroids out there that don't bulk you up, but actually make you cut fat and improve your fast twitch muscles. (burn fat, gain muscle) and improve endurance and speed...Winstrol.

Let the flood gates open. This might be the start of other players coming out or being caught using said substance.

David Stern is sitting in his 48th floor Manhattan office with Lebron and Duh-wight's positive steroids test results on top of his 2-ton desk laughing his ass off. In the shredder we go.

According to league sources, Lewis tested positive for steroids precursor DHEA and asked for a retest, as is his right under the collective bargaining agreement, ESPN.com's Jackie MacMullan has learned.
Lewis did not think he was taking anything illegal, so he sat down with the Magic staff and they isolated an over-the-counter supplement he was taking that contained DHEA, banned by The National Basketball Players Association. It is frequently used to combat fatigue. Lewis had not told Magic officials he was taking it. He was randomly tested again during the finals, but the DHEA was still in his system, MacMullan reported.

    Ignorance is not a defence!

If anyone on this forum was earning an extra $1,000 a year but it was dependant on you not testing positive to certain drugs, even for that small amount of money we would all go out of our way to make sure we avoided the banned substances.

Lewis earns millions of dollars a year!

As for a ten game ban, what a joke!

By the way, this idea that PED's wouldnt help a basketball player is incredibly stupid. Tell me one player that wouldnt love to have explosive strength and speed! Athletes are not all stupid. They know they don't need to look like Mr Universe. A player could keep his same body weight, having these drugs, just at his normal weight he will be so much stronger.

Ignorance is the only defense, what else would he say? The only other thing is to admit to taking PEDs.

Ten games is actually a decent amount, it's 1/8 of the season, not 1/3 like baseball but still a good amount of games.

If He is proven to have the substance in his system after the investigation then Yes, 10 games is a joke. Stiffer sanctions must be made in order to set an example. It would be drastic but it has to be done to show the seriousness of the league.

I want the complete list of banned substances for each sport -- I want to know what you can get over the counter and what has to be purchased illegally.

I've heard for instance that Olympic athletes are so restricted that those with seasonal allergies can't even take benadryl anymore and they definitely can't take drugs like Claritin-D with pseudoephedrine.

Done that a couple times. I sometimes can't even lift my arm over my head properly to shoot. That's when I stick to just dribbling and passing :D
