I'm in the process of starting up a business. Basically what it does is sell trips to conferences around the world that discuss ways to gain financial freedom. It also gives people the opportunity to start a business of their own. I'm stuck right now trying to come up with a domain name, even though I'm sure I'll need more than one in the near future. I'm purchasing it from My Quick Domain's, so if you want to go there and see if it's taken before posting it you can, or if you just want to list a few on here I'll go check. I'm trying to come up with things that are: 1) Easy to remember, 2) Easy to say, and 3) Easy to spell. I'd also like to have some words in the domain that would be key words when people are searching, such as Finance, Financial, Money, Entrepreneur, etc. I'm trying to avoid using numbers as well ("5" or "five"). They're not really "easy to spell", but are unique, and can be easily remembered. You have to come up with a company name like, oh, I don't know... it doesn't have to be about "business" or "trips"... it has to be catchy. Wait! What about "biztrip.com" or "gobiz.com" or "tripper" (not "Stripper")... or you can make up something that has NOTHING to do with business or trips or conferences like "excalia" or "advenia" or "yobogo"... or something weird. I thought about something but dismissed it... "itssummerpeoplesupposebehorny.com" has too many letters.
OP...why MyQuickDomains? It looks like a GoDaddy affiliate or something (same basic template). I've been involved in the domain industry for years and have never heard of it. That can't be good.
No reason, it was just a suggestion a friend gave me. I don't mind going through another site like godaddy.com if you think it could be more reliable. My main concern right now is coming up with a name, but that seems next to impossible. It's too bad tapthat was taken! Pugs
When searching for available domains do not search through Go Daddy or Network Solutions. They will often temporarily hold the domain and charge a premium for the name. Domain Tools is the best way to search for available names.
Pugs - here are a few options. No idea if it's what you're going for: FreedomExpos.com WealthCon.com MoneyExpos.com (premium domain on GoDaddy for $601) To be honest, a great domain name will be hard to find for the registration fee. Depending on how serious you are about this business, you might want to make an offer on something like "WealthSeminars.com" or "FinancialSeminars.com". But if money is an issue then go for the 2nd tier domain name and make sure to optimize your site for SEO and include plenty of great content based on the keywords you're looking to target.
Thanks a lot 3814, I really appreciate all of that. I figure I'm going to stick with the 2nd tier domain names for now and if things go decently then I'll try moving up to a premium domain. I like FreedomExpos.com, I've added that one to my list of possibilities. Thanks again! Pugs

Although I would stay away from "expos" if I could, just because it sounds like "expose" and could cause confusion for stupid people. I wanted to e-mail you, by the way.
